And we thought the turf wars between Audi and BMW only covered the US and Europe. Now, it looks like the rivalry has gone global after BMW re-popped Audi with a resoundingly emphatic billboard.
The billboard can be found in Hong Kong and while there weren’t any witty tag lines on it, it was about as clear a shot as BMW has taken on their rivals. You probably wouldn’t even notice anything wrong with the billboard, that is until you look at the building’s ground floor occupants and only then will you realize that it’s actually an Audi showroom.
Don’t tell us this is just a coincidence because between these two German car brands, there are no such things as coincidences.

It was just last week when we brought you a Russian R8 owner who was pining for the days of the classic BMW luxury grand touring coupe, so it was quite comical when we came across this modern day nomad who is proud to call his workhorse a BMW, and that doesn’t stand for Bavarian Mule Works.
Aside from all the all terrain, test mule and harmful emissions jokes you have to ask yourself, what would possess a person to do a thing like this? Could it be the allure of owning an import or being able to ride around on a piece of fine German engineering that motivated this man to badge his donkey as a bonfire Bimmer. We guess that at the end of the day the question you have to ask yourself is, how much more is a BMW ass worth than the regular kind?
Perhaps we will find out in Frankfurt.
German cars are known for bring precision machines, but some people think the cars lack personality or soul. Since nothing gives that warm cuddly feeling like a nice oriental rug, one owner decided to use the pattern to make this first generation M Coupe more personable.
A paint job like this would obviously cost more then the car is worth, so this is a wrap. With what basically amounts to a big sticker, the owner was able to transform this from a 321 hp slick blue machine into living room furniture.
If you have not been punked in this first day of April you have to know that Bmw tricked everyone. In an official press release, the German manufacturer announced its new Canine Repellent Alloy Protection system, a system developed in order to stop dogs fouling against the alloy wheels of your Bmw.
The Canine Repellent Alloy Protection system (C.R.A.P.) reveals from the begining the purpose of the new technology, absolutely crap. According to Bmw the „crap” system is administrating immediately an electric shock to the animal and keeps him away.
The German manufacturer showed today that it really has a good sense of humor. Many journalists took it as a truthful press release and received their joke for this April’s Fools day. Good one Bmw!
Last week BMW unveiled the 1-series and we allready know that it will be available on the US market in 2008. But have you wondered what the 1-series was meant to be?
BMW Istambul has released some great illustrations defining the concept of what BMW 1 series wanted to be.
"That`s why we don`t have front wheel drives. BMW. Sheer Driving Pleasure."
BMW Spain has added a very interesting advertising in order to show "BMW Supremacy" on the market. We don’t know if we really agree with making fun of your competitors and alter their image to use to your advantage in your advertisements, but BMW really use this technique and took a stab at Jaguar with this new add.
