2021 BMW M3/M4: All You Need to Know
BMW confirmed that the next-generation G80 M3 and G82 M4 will see daylight in 2020, but hasn’t offered an exact launch date. Some say it could happen at the Geneva Motor Show, while some say a mid-2020 debut is also quite likely, but then it should entail a private, BMW-centric event of sorts. Or maybe the Goodwood Festival of Speed, then? Either way, sales will kick off in early 2021.
As usual, there’s a lot of stuff we don’t know about the incoming BMW M3/M4 duo, such as price, the said launch date, and, most importantly, performance figures. So we focused on what we know about the new M3 and M4 and what we expect BMW to offer for the two.

BMW just revealed the new 2020 BMW X6 as one of the most ostentatious vehicles in the world. This SAC (Sports Activity Coupe) continues in the footsteps of its predecessors who found their way to more than 443,000 owners. As one of the most successful vehicles in the BMW lineup, the latest 2020 BMW X6 builds on the newest line of Beemers taking all the dynamic talents from smaller models and combining it with the tech and styling we have familiarized with after the introduction of the latest 8 Series car.

2020 Mercedes GLS vs 2020 BMW X7
Mercedes-Benz launched the third-generation GLS for the 2020 model, replacing the successful yet dated, six-year-old second-gen SUV. The GLS was redesigned from the ground up and its better in every department, but it also has a more challenging mission. While the old GLS had only the Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator to worry about, the third-gen GLS faces a new threat: the BMW X7. The company’s largest SUV yet, the X7 was designed so that BMW can finally compete against the GLS, a nameplate that’s been around since 2007.
The X7’s arrival also means that the GLS is no longer alone in Europe. With the Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator not widely available here, the GLS had the entire market for itself all these years. 2019 BMW 8 Series Convertible vs 2016 BMW 6 Series Convertible
The BMW 8 Series Convertible has arrived, and with its arrival comes a lot of questions regarding how it compares to the model it’s effectively replacing: the departed 6 Series Convertible. To be clear, the 8 Series Convertible isn’t a direct-line successor to the 6 Series Convertible. It’s packaged as a true-born flagship, developed to compete against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet and, in some ways, the Aston Martin DB11 Volante. You can’t say the same thing about the 6 Series Cabriolet. Still, even if there’s no direct connection between the two, it’s hard not to think of one without thinking of the other. So, we lined them up together to see how the 8 Series Convertible and the 6 Series Convertible compare to each other.
2019 BMW X7 vs 2019 Volvo XC90
The BMW X7’s arrival adds another worthy challenger to what is becoming a crowded mid-size luxury SUV market. The X7 joins other established models like the Mercedes GLE-Class, Porsche Cayenne, Audi Q7, and the model that it’s being compared to here: the Volvo XC90. It’s been a while since BMW and Volvo are talked about in equal terms. That’s a credit to the incredible gains Volvo has achieved in re-establishing its place in the luxury vehicle segment. The BMW X7 arrives just in time to compete with the XC90, so it’s reasonable to compare to the two to determine which of these two SUVs has the edge over the other.
Is the 2019 BMW X7 Too Similar to the BMW X5?
The BMW X7 has arrived, and it’s poised to take the reigns from the X5 as Bavaria’s new flagship SUV. The full-sized behemoth will have its hands full competing against the likes of the Mercedes GLS-Class and the Land Rover Range Rover. For the time being, at least, the X7 will also draw comparisons to the model it’s replacing atop the BMW SUV food chain. Fair or not, the X7 will be compared to the X5, in part to judge the merits of the X7 as Bimmer’s new flagship SUV. The arrival of the 2019 BMW 8 Series was a long time in the making. It’s been almost 20 years since an 8 Series hit the streets, and the arrival of the new model has brought our memories of the original version back on the surface. In times like this, we can’t help but wonder how the 8 Series measures up to the original. Does it look better? Does it have better materials? Which came with better technologies? BMW M5: Old vs. New
2017 brought us the new BMW 5 Series, so it’s only fitting that 2018 brings us a new M5. We must have been good this year because Santa came early, and with him, he brought a whole slew of updates that include an updated V-8, loads of new technology, BMW’s xDrive AWD system as standard (optional outside the U.S.,) a lighter chassis, and better performance. Talk about some good news, right? Truth be told, the M5 dropped as much as 127 pounds, has more aggressive styling, an updated interior with the latest infotainment system, and an extra 38 ponies and 51 pound-feet over the outgoing model – that brings total output figures up to 591 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. It can now hit 62 mph in as little as 3.4 seconds and 124 mph in just 11.1 seconds. Of course, top speed is still pinned at 155 mph, unless you get the M Driver’s package, which increases the top speed to 189 mph.
Now, it’s set to take on other established beasts in the market that include the Mercedes-AMG E63, the Audi RS7, and the Cadillac CTS-V – I know, it’s not German, but this thing is seriously a beast, so don’t get caught slipping because it will eat you alive. Is the new BMW M5 a Waste of Money? Why not Just Get the M550i?
We’re fortunate enough to live in a world where brands like BMW take pride in their performance arms and like to apply M-power to just about everything. But, is it for everyone? Probably not. M-cars are typically much more expensive than the model that sits below them, but the tradeoff is usually lots of extra power and slightly more aggressive looks. Unless you’re one of those people that needs to have the best of everything, you could find yourself questioning whether or not the M5 is really for you, and I honestly can’t blame you. The new M5 comes just a year after the 5 Series transitioned into its seventh generation. With this transition, the 5 Series lost some weight (as much as 137 pounds) and came complete with some updated engine options that deliver better fuel economy and performance. On top of that, BMW finally decided to give the M5 all-wheel drive (standard in the U.S. but optional everywhere else) which is enough to bring it up to par with the competition from Audi and Mercedes. But, with a car like the BMW M550i xDrive resting just below the M5 in the lineup, do you really need to pony up for the M5?
Well, that’s not something I can answer directly, but I would be lying if I told you that the M550i didn’t have some intriguing points to back up why it just might be a better candidate. After all, the M550i is a gorgeous car with attractive and aggressive looks that make it stand out among its brethren, and it does have enough balls to compete on its own in most cases.
