Back in May 2013, we reported that the Dubai Police had invested in a Bugatti Veyron to add to its list of insane supercars. Well, that story ended up being nothing more than a photoshop’d version of a custom Veyron from our pals over at Kahn Design. Commenters — obviously folks from Dubai — also pointed out that the image that circulated the web was simply a suggestion to the Dubai Police force and not a claim that the model actually existed.
Well, regardless of who was right — our source or the commenters — this Veyron has now become a reality. And to prove its realness, the Dubai Police released a video highlighting the model all done up in the signature green and white livery.
We are still curious as to why the Dubai Police need all of these supercars in its fleet, but residents of the Middle Eastern emirate can rest assured that their police can catch damn near any criminal on the road.

The Veyron has been the epitome of ultra luxury, ultra performance for well over a decade now, and to celebrate that, Bugatti is taking a look back at the original — or in this case, the first concept EB 18/4 Veyron design study displayed at the Tokyo Motor Show back in 1999.
Bugatti is bringing the Veyron concept to display at this year’s Salon Rétromobile in Paris, the premier event for vintage and historical French vehicles. This marks the first time the EB 18/4 Veyron concept has been displayed since its debut in ’99.
One look at the concept, and it’s apparent how true the production Veyron stayed true to the original design. The first production Veyron was completed in 2005, and featured a monstrous 8.0-liter, quad-turbocharged, W-16 engine with DOHC and four valves per cylinder. Its output was equally as monstrous at 1,001 horsepower and 922 pound-feet of torque. It’s Haldex all-wheel-drive system was a must in order to send power to the ground without melting the tires. Its top speed was in excess of 200 mph, with later versions hitting 250 mph.
Bugatti’s current crop of Veyrons include the 16.4 Grand Sport and 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse. The latter of which delivers a mind-blowing 1,200 horsepower and currently holds the title of word’s fastest series production roadster. Only 150 Vitesse Veyrons will be built, but according to the press release below, roughly 40 are still unspoken for. A fat checkbook is a requirement, however, as the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse costs well over $2.6 million.
Then again, if 1,200 horsepower isn’t enough, rest easy knowing that Volkswagen says the next Veyron will exceed that current output rating.

A while ago Bugatti announced that both a production version of the Galibier and the SuperVeyron were canceled. Now, in a recent interview with the British magazine AutoCar, Volkswagen Group chief Martin Winterkorn confirmed that this decision was made in order to focus all the company’s attention on the development of a direct successor to the Veyron.
Winterkorn offered no other details on this new supercar, nor did he offer an official launch date, but he said: "The Galibier is officially dead. We won’t do it. In its place will be a second-generation Veyron with more power."
So, what does this means for Bugatti? Pretty much nothing, except that we’re going to see a bit more powerful model than the current Veyron SuperSport, which delivers a total of 1,200 horsepower and 1,106 pound-feet. Of course, don’t expect it to deliver 1,500 horsepower, like the SuperVeyron was supposed to, but it will fall somewhere between the Veyron SuperSport and the rumored SuperVeyron.
It wouldn’t hurt to see a completely revised exterior, but likely won’t happen, as Bugatti is not too open to change from what we have seen lately.

This weekend not only marks the beginning of the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, but also the launch date of the annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona. The 43rd edition of the auction will be a special one, as the company prepared a series of special vehicles that will be auctioned to benefit the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund.
One of these vehicles is a 2008 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 owned by Simon Cowell. When Cowell bought the Veyron back in 2008, it was the fastest street-legal vehicle in America, so this makes it even more special.
The car comes with only 1,300 miles on the odometer and all of them were with Cowell at the helm. It features a custom black paint with black interior — this is one of just a few Veyrons offered in American in this configuration. The car also benefits from a full one-year, extended factory warranty offered directly through Bugatti.

A Bugatti Veyron that’s priced at close to $2 million is an understandable amount given the level of luxury, performance, and technology put into the supercar. But a Bugattibelt that costs $84,000?
Seems like a tad too expensive, right?
Yet that’s exactly the amount Bugatti is charging for this fashion accessory. In fairness to Bugatti, the belt does come with some nifty technological workings, particularly the use of equipment normally reserved for Swiss matches as integral components of its mechanism. On top of that, it’s been finished in three different, albeit all expensive finishes: white gold, rose gold, and a still-to-be-determined third series run.
The belt also has smoked sapphire crystals and over 100 handcrafted parts made from stainless steel, solid gold, and titanium. Needless to say, a ton of work was done by Roland Iten to turn this belt into a true showcase piece of wealth and deep pockets.
There are only 44 units available, although at the cost of one, we doubt if these belts will sell like ice cream on a hot summer day.

Now this is a race you won’t see everyday: a Bugatti Veyron Vitesse versus a Lamborghini Aventador and BMW S1000RR. The idea was to see which of the three vehicles is the fastest in a straight line.
In terms of raw horsepower, this race would be 1,200 horsepower versus 700 horsepower versus 193 horsepower, so it appears that the Veyron has the biggest advantage. As we always say, horsepower doesn’t mean everything...
In terms of performance figures, the Veyron can hit a top speed of 255 mph and goes from 0 to 60 mph in 2.6 seconds, the Aventador up to 217 mph and sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds, while the S1000RR can hit a top speed of over 125 mph, per BMW. So, which one will be better on the race? Check out the video to find out!

The Bugatti Veyron was unveiled in 2005 and since then, a total of 400 units were produced. Considering that only 450 units were supposed to be produced, that means that only 50 units are left. So, if you plan to buy a Veyron, you had better get to writing a big check soon.
The 400th Veyron produced was a Grand Sport Vitesse "Jean-Pierre Wimille" edition specially developed for a customer in the Middle East who paid €2.13 million for it — $2.9 million at the current exchange rates, excluding taxes and transport. With this unit, the Vitesse "Jean-Pierre Wimille" special edition is officially sold out.
From all the 450 units, 300 were coupes and 150 units were roadsters. The roadster model has only sold 100 units so far, so that mean all the 50 remaining units are roadster models — more precisely, Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse and other variants.

Customers of the Bugatti Veyron in North America are in for a treat, as if having the capabilities to buy one of the most expensive cars in the world isn’t good enough.
If you happen to be a prospective customer of Bugatti and you’re in line to buy one of its multi-million-dollar supercars, the French automaker will give you a chance to take one of its own out for a spin. And by "one of its own", we mean the world’s fastest convertible, the mighty Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse.
The recently-launched Bugatti Dynamic Drive Experience allows you to see whether you made the right decision in signing up for a Veyron and while we can’t imagine a reason for somebody to renege on their interest after driving the car, the Dynamic Drive Experience is the perfect way for prospective owners to find out if they could handle the heat of owning one of the world’s fastest, most powerful, and most expensive supercars.
The first Dynamic Drive Experience was recently held in Las Vegas with Bugatti indicating that more stops in cities across the U.S. and Canada are being planned.

Bugatti’s "Les Légendes de Bugatti" series has produced some pretty serious special edition Veyrons. The company has already revealed two of them and recently, the French automaker took to the Dubai Motor Show to introduce us to the third.
The model is officially called the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse Meo Constantini. If you’re not familiar with the man, Constantini was a close friend of Ettore Bugatti and was also the head of the Bugatti factory race team for a number of years. So yeah, the two were pretty close and Meo was even a pretty good racecar driver, having won the Targa Florio twice while driving a Type 35.
As for the special edition Veyron, the model distinguishes itself via a number of styling references attributed to the Type 35. The classic blue racing colors - Bugatti calls it "Bugatti Dark Blue Sport" - are an homage to France’s racing heritage. Take a closer look and you’ll notice that a number of components on the body have been rendered in aluminum, including the wings, doors, and the "medallions." These aluminum parts were actually hand-polished and coated with clear lacquer, giving it a pristine shine when under the sun. Meanwhile, on the underside of the rear wing, you’re going to see a silhouette of the historic Targa Florio race course where Constantini scored two victories while his signature was laser-engraved into the aluminum tank and oil caps, all while painted in silver.
Inside, "Gaucho" leather was used to upholster the cabin and complemented pretty nicely by a "Lake Blue" trim on the seat’s side cushions, arm rests, extended center console, door panels, dash panel, instrument panel and steering wheel. Constantini’s signature is also present in the cabin, this time embroidered on the head restraints using a "Bugatti Light Blue Sport" color. The Targa Florio race track is there, too, at cover of the rear center box. Look at the car’s doors and you can take a closer look at various racing scenes from Constantini’s career and vintage car motifs, all laser-engraved into the leather trim.
No power upgrades were made, but the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse Meo Constantini still packs an 8.0-liter, W-16 quad-turbo engine that develops 1,200 horsepower and 1,106 pound-feet of torque, good enough to allow the car to hit 62 mph in 2.6 seconds with a top speed of 253 mph.

If you’re wondering what the next installment of Bugatti’s Legends Series is going to be, the French automaker may have given an indication with the filing for trademark of the Rembrandt Bugatti name.
If you’re not familiar on the name, Rembrandt is actually the younger brother of Bugatti founder Ettore Bugatti and he’s also the man responsible for designing the famous hood ornament on the Bugatti Type 41 Royale.
So why is this all important on this otherwise innocuous October day? Well, it appears that the next Veyron to be included in the Legends Series will bear the Rembrandt Bugatti name, following Jean-Pierre Wimile and Jean Bugatti in that ultra exclusive club.
The patent application was apparently filed with the European Union’s Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market by Audi’s intellectual property office for Bugatti. We doubt that Bugatti has a new model in the pipeline that will carry the Rembrandt name, so it seems that the move to trademark the name fits right in line with Bugatti’s recent run of special edition Veyrons.

Earlier this year Flo Rida decided that a $1.7 million Bugatti Veyron is just not enough for him, so he decided to wrap in gold. Of course, this was basically just a grab for attention.
Now, from gold Flo Rida decided to go pink with his Veyron. This time it is for more than just attention, as the pink hue is to help raise awareness for breast cancer — October is the official month for breast cancer awareness for those that don’t know.
Along with the pink wrap, Flo Rida’s Veyron also dons the immediately recognizable pink ribbon — the official breast cancer awareness logo — on its hood, chromed wheels and some chrome insertions on the grille.
Last time around, we couldn’t help but laugh at the golden shimmer of Flo Rida’s rig, but this time around, we have to admit that he did this over-the-top wrap for a good cause: saving the ta-tas. Hat’s off to you, Mr. Rida...

If you’re in the market for a hypercar that is a delicate balance of power and style, the Koenigsegg Agera R is likely near the top of your list. Of course, that’s only if you have a few million bucks in an off-shore account somewhere. Also near the top of your list has to be the slightly more powerful Bugatti Veyron.
So, what if we take these two — a Veyron Vitesse and an Agera R — and we put them in a head-to-head, rolling-start race? Well, first of all, we would get to enjoy two mean-sounding hypercars, and we would also get to see which of the two is faster. Which do you think wins from a rolling start?
To help get a better idea of what we’re looking at, the Agera R is powered by a 5.0-liter, V-8 engine with twin turbochargers and with a total output of 1,140 horsepower. On the other hand, the Veyron Vitesse gets a W-16 engine that produces an output of 1,200 horsepower.
