Bugatti Says Good Bye To Chiron With Special Edition L’Ébé
Named after the Monégasque driver Louis Chiron, the Bugatti Chiron was unveiled in 2016 as a replacement for the Veyron. It was the first production car to deliver 1,479 horsepower (1,500 PS), creating an entirely new sector of hyper sports car performance. The Chiron saw nine different variants, including Chiron Sport, Chiron Pur Sport and Chiron Super Sport, and as of January 2022 every Chiron unit has been sold.
The last three Chiron units to be delivered in Europe will be offered as a special edition. Named after L’Ébé Bugatti, Ettore Bugatti’s daughter and eldest child, the model will be limited to one Chiron and two Chiron Sport. Two of them were already delivered, and the last Chiron L’Ébé Sport will be delivered before the end of June 2022.
Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport "Grand Prix" Edition Goes Live At Monaco
Bugatti is one of the most famous names in the automotive world. The beautiful Type 31 and successful Type 50 are some of the most expensive cars on the planet. Then there was a bit of a gap and the EB110 SuperSport debuted to be one of the fastest cars on Earth. Nearly a decade later the Veyron was the fastest car on Earth, now the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ is the fastest car in the world. Now, there is a new version of the Chiron, known as the Chiron Pur Sport Grand Prix edition.
The 12 Fastest Cars in the World Ranked
The first production car with a recorded speed was the 1894 Benz Velo that had a top speed of just 12 mph. Few verified records exist from that point until around 1950, when the Jaguar XK120 set a production car speed record of 124.6 mph (not to be confused with the tuned prototype that managed to hit 133 mph) From this point on, it became a trend for automotive publications to do their own top speed test. Even the venerable McLaren F1 was tested by Car & Driver, and in 2005 we got our first government-official speed record set by the Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4 and verified by German inspection officials in 2005. It was that moment when the official challenge between manufacturers kicked off, and since then there have only been a handful of cars up to breaking the record. This list covers the top 10 fastest cars in the world, ranked from slowest to fastest.
It’s Official: Bugatti Sucked at Developing Cars
When it comes to the automotive industry, Rimac’s acquisition of Bugatti is one of the most epic automotive marriages in recent history. Volkswagen owned the French hypercar manufacturer since 1998, but on November 2nd, 2021, the Croatian EV manufacturer, Rimac, officially took custodianship of Bugatti. While this is a great way for both car companies to move forward, Mate Rimac’s other goal for Bugatti is to assume much better control over the development costs, which is something Volkswagen did not manage very well at all.
The Only Bugatti Bolide in Existence Made a Rare Public Appearance, and It Sounds Amazing!
With only 40 units set to be built, and a price tag of about $5 million, chances of seeing a Bugatti Bolide in real life are pretty thin. But those who just happened to be at the Concours d’Elegance at Villa D’Este in Lake Como, Italy got the chance to enjoy an amazing show. The finest machines on the planet were part of the event, and with the Bolide being one of the finest of them all, it had to be present! Needless to say it was a sight to behold.
The 2022 Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport "Vague de Lumière" Required A Five-Week Paint Job
Bugatti’s "Sur Meme" customization program is responsible for making sure that no two models leaving the Molsheim Atelier is the same. For example, the first Chiron Super Sport delivered a few weeks ago featured a bespoke "Vagues de Lumière" paintwork. Now, is time for the Chiron Pur Sport to receive the same treatment. Of course, while the name of the paint is the same, the look of the two supercars is completely different.
The First Bugatti Chiron Super Sport Delivered Features "Vagues de Lumière" Paintwork
The Chiron Super Sport was announced back in June 2021 as a more comfortable, daily driver version of the Super Sport 300+. The model is limited to only nine units, and, despite its €3.2 million sticker price, all units have been spoken for in a matter of minutes after the official launch.
You Think Dealer Markups in America Are Bad? This Non-Existent Bugatti Centodieci is Ridonkulous
Despite the recent press coverage of insane dealer markups on cars like the Chevy C8 Corvette, Ford Bronco, and Ford Mach-E, it’s been going on for a long time. Back in 2018, Kia dealers were marking up the Stinger for at least $10,000 over MSRP and back in 2016, the Acura NSX was subject to a similar “market adjustment.” Now, a Japanese dealer is proving to the world that no matter what a car’s base price is, there’s always room for markup – even if it starts out deep in the seven-figure range.
Bugatti Has A New Engine in Development, and it’s Possible Thanks to Electrification
Now that Bugatti is under the control of Rimac and its founder Mate Rimac, things within the company are starting to accelerate. But what does Rimac actually have in store for Bugatti? Will the company dig deep into electrification right away or will there be a transition? And the Chiron is in its final production phase and due for replacement, so will its successor be all-electric? Well, Mate Rimac has answers, and thanks to an interview with Automotive News Europe, we have a small idea of what we can expect.

Bugatti Should Really Consider Building a Front-Engined Coupe
Rimac is now a major shareholder in Bugatti, with 55 percent being owned by Rimac Automobili and 45 percent owned by Porsche. With this, new opportunities are being presented for both companies. Rimac will benefit from Bugatti’s expertise in building hypercars, while future Bugatti products will make good use of Rimac’s high-performance electric drivetrains. We already know that a V-8 hybrid version based on the Chiron is being planned, but what if Bugatti, under Rimac, come up with a new model, and what if it’s front-engined?
Bugatti Announces "Sur Mesure" Division With The Launch Of The Chiron Pur Sport ’Grand Prix’ Edition
In its 112 years on the market, Bugatti has been known for offering three important things: heritage, innovation and the finest craftsmanship. Its cars were always special in one way or another and always offered never-before-seen levels of personalization.
Today however, Bugatti announced it will take one step forward with the launch of a new bespoke customization program: "Sur Mesure". The name itself - "sur mesure" is the French word for tailored - describes what the program will be all about: offering even more customizable supercars.
How Much Power Does The Bugatti Chiron Really Make?
With 1,479 horsepower under the hood, the Bugatti Chiron is far from being the most powerful supercar in the world. In fact, when compared to supercars like Lotus Evija (1,972 horsepower), Rimac Nevera (1,914 horsepower) or even the Hennessey Venom F5 (1,817 horsepower) you could say that the Chiron lost the battle. Still, it is on the top list of the most powerful, fastest supercars in the world. But, does it really deliver the amount of power claimed by Bugatti?

2024 Bugatti Bolide - The Track-only Hypercar Will Enter Production And Arrive In 2024
Bugatti has announced a new extreme version of the Chiron. They did so at Quail, at this year’s prestigious Monterey Car Week. Dubbed the Bolide, it is a car with a name that is as cliché as its design. "But didn’t Bugatti take the wraps off of the Bolide last year?" Well, you’re right. However, the Bolide Super sports car you saw last October was just a concept, and Bugatti has now decided to put the Bolide into production.
North Americans Just Can’t Get Enough Bugatti It Seems
Historically, Bugatti’s biggest market has been Europe, which really isn’t surprising for a French automaker with a German parent company – Volkswagen AG. This year, however, things have changed, and – as it turns out – North Americans really, really like Bugatti these days. So much so, that North America is now the region leading sales for Bugatti.
