The Cadillac ATS-V Coupe was launched in 2014 as Cadillac’s response to the growing number of high-performance coupes that are making a name for themselves in the market. Models like the BMW M4 and the Audi RS5 are considered some of the segment’s best and the aftermarket world has taken notice of that. But don’t sleep on the ATS-V Coupe just yet because it has also received some tuning attention, none more recently than Geiger Cars, which prepared a program that gives the the high-powered ATS model a new output of 508 horsepower and 486 pound-feet of torque.

The program is largely meant for European owners of the Cadillac ATS-V Coupe, a lot of whom will probably admit to needing one considering how many tuners offer programs for the M4 and the RS5.

In addition to the engine upgrades, it also includes a flashy new set of 19-inch wheels and upgrades to the car’s suspension unit. The last part is particularly important given the extra horses that were squeezed out of the coupe’s 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 engine. There is a lack of exterior and interior upgrades, but given the car’s already impressive aerodynamic qualities, it doesn’t seem too much of a stretch to consider that the ATS-V Coupe doesn’t need them as much as some people think.

That said, it wouldn’t hurt if Geiger paid attention in that department too. But alas, the program is limited in that respect, although owners of the car who prefer upgrades to the engine won’t be disappointed with what they stand to get from the German tuner’s newest tuning kit.

Exterior

Geiger Cars’ exterior upgrade for the Cadillac ATS-V Coupe is limited to a new set of 19-inch OZ Leggier alloy wheels measuring 19x9.0 in the front and 19x9.5 in the back. The wheels are wrapped in a set of tires measuring 255/30ZR19 and 275/30ZR19 in the front and rear, respectively.

Drivetrain

The German tuner is known for some scintillating programs for America’s finest sports and muscle cars, so it’s a little curious that its program for the ATS-V Coupe’s 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 engine only nets minor power improvements. The package does include modifications to the car’s hardware and software and includes modifications to the fuelling, ignition and turbo boost. An ECU remap handles the software modifications while a stainless-steel cat-back, valve-controlled sports exhaust system with an X-pipe and 4.33-inch tailpipes help improve the engine’s soundtrack while also cutting down on the back pressure. The end result is an output of 508 horsepower and 486 pound-feet of torque, an improvement of 39 horses and 42 pound-feet of torque over the sports coupe’s standard output. Geiger Cars didn’t say how the power gains affect the ATS-V Coupe’s 0-to-60-mph time but it did mention that the car’s top speed has increased to 194 mph, almost 10 mph faster than the standard model.

Suspension and Brakes

Give Geiger Cars some credit. The engine upgrade didn’t net massive results, but the tuner still put in the work to improve the ATS-V Coupe’s handling with a set of its own sports springs that drops the coupe’s ride height by 0.98 inches. Combine that with the Caddy’s Magnetic Ride Control suspension, Brembo brakes, electronic limited slip differential, and launch control, and you have a car that’s well-suited to handle the rigors of a full-spec performance machine.

Pricing

The full kit for the Cadillac ATS-V Coupe adds up to €13,070, which converts to about $14,677 based on current exchange rates. Competition

BMW M4 by B&B Automobiltechnik

The Cadillac ATS-V Coupe has no shortage of competitors as a handful of German rivals are all directly competing against it. One of the most popular of these models is the BMW M4, which also happens to be the subject of a lot of recent tuning programs, including one from B&B Automobiltechnik. The German tuner’s kit for the M4 comes in three different stages, each coming with modifications to the turbochargers in addition to a higher-flow intake tract, larger exhaust downpipes, more efficient charge air cooler, and an ECU remap with revised fuel, spark and boost parameters. All told, B&B was able to bring out 490 horsepower for the Stage 1 kit, 540 ponies for Stage 2, and 580 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque for Stage 3. The Stage 3 kit, in particular, helps the M4 improve its 0-to-60-mph time to 3.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 205 mph.

BMW M4 by G-Power

Let’s stick with the BMW M4 because this model really stands out as one of the finest in the segment. A more recent program for the high-powered sports coupe comes by way of G-Power. The German tuner’s kit revolves around its Bi-Tronik 2 V3 module, which you might be familiar with as it is the same tuning module that G-Power uses on a lot of its programs. In this instance, the tuner was able to squeeze out a nice total of 600 horsepower and 546 pound-feet of torque. That represents a hefty haul of 175 ponies and 140 pound-feet of torque, bringing the M4’s acceleration time to 60 mph down to 3.5 seconds to go with a new top speed of 200 mph.

Conclusion

While it is much easier to score tuning upgrades for the Cadillac ATS-V Coupe, it’s a little trickier to find a European tuner that can work on American performance cars. That’s why this kit by Geiger Cars for the Cadillac coupe is a pretty good option even though it doesn’t really reinvent the ATS-V Coupe’s performance capabilities. Still, for what an ATS-V Coupe owner is getting, this program is a good way to get some extra juice out of their Caddys.
