2020 Cadillac XT6
Introduced in early 2019, the Cadillac XT6 is the company’s first three-row SUV besides the massive Escalade. It bridges the gap between the latter and the compact XT5 and it rounds off Cadillac’s four-SUV lineup for the 2020 model year. It’s built on the same platform as the Chevrolet Traverse, so it’s pretty much a rebodied, fancier version of the GMC Acadia Denali.
The XT6 arrives to compete in a crowded SUV segment that already includes high sellers like the BMW X5, Audi Q7, and Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class. The Caddy also goes against the new Lincoln Aviator, the popular Acura MDX, and segment leader Lexus RX. How does it compare to some of its most important rivals? Let’s find out in the review below.
When the Cadillac CTS dropped onto the market, it was available in a variety of versions, including a sedan, a coupe and a station wagon. Now, the same recipe for success is being applied to the new ATS. Cadillac will first put out a sedan and a coupe version, but a station wagon version and a convertible are also said to be in the mix. Why? Well, Americans need cheaper alternatives to German coupes and Cadillac is ready to deliver just about anything we’re looking for in order to pick up sales.
They have the platform to build on and will more than likely make sure they get their money’s worth on it.
At the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, Cadillac finally revealed the all-new 2015 ATS Coupe, and borrowed a host of features from the sedan version, except for the new body panels, the equally new Cadillac badge and the sedan’s two rear doors
The ATS Coupe is also built on the same rear-wheel-drive Alpha platform and is offered with nearly the same engine lineup as the sedan: a turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder with 270 horsepower, and a 3.6-liter, V-6 with 321 horsepower. The engines are combined with either a six-speed manual transmission or an automatic transmission. There will also be an option for an all-wheel-drive system.
BMW and Audi better start prepping themselves for some competition.
Update 5/15/14: Cadillac has announced a starting price of $38,990, including the $995 delivery fee for the 2015 ATS Coupe.

Cadillac unveiled a first ELR concept back in 2011 and ever since then everyone was pretty sure a production will also follow. Things got pretty clear in 2012 when a leak from OnStar confirmed Cadillac will dive into the hybrid realm with a vehicle not named "Escalade." The model finally made its world debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show and according to the first official details we have, it offers "an unprecedented combination of luxury, advanced engineering and progressive design."
However, this is not the first time in Caddy’s long history that it’s tread into the economy car world. The first one was the laughably Cavalier-like Cimarron. If you recall, Cadillac was so embarrassed by the Cimarron that the automaker refused to call it a Cadillac and instead dubbed it the “Cimarron by Cadillac” originally. GM later forced a name change to “Cadillac Cimarron.”
Needless to say Caddy does not want to relive those days, so they took things pretty serious with the ELR. The model is being powered by the latest GM EREV technology that combined a pure electric drive and an efficient, range-extending 1.4 liter gasoline-powered electric generator.

After showing the world what a CTS Coupe could look like, the next logical step for the Cadillac family was to add a factory tuned V-Series version of the new Coupe to the American luxury automaker’s range. The CTS-V Coupe will be the last version in the CTS lineup with no convertible model currently scheduled for production.
Just like the award winning Cadillac CTS-V, the Coupe is powered by an LSA 6.2 Liter supercharged Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 V8 that makes a maximum output of 556 HP and 551 lb-ft of torque and is mated to either a Tremec TR6060 six speed manual with a twin plate clutch to handle the extra horse power or a Hydra-Matic 6L90 six speed automatic complete with paddle shifters on the steering wheel that allow you to push button your way from 0 to 60 MPH in only 3.9 seconds.
The exterior of this sporty coupe features a modified front grill that essentially doubles the CTS’s air intake volume as well as a raised center section in the hood to provide room for the blower that eventually spits spent gasses out of a unique twin tipped center exit exhaust. However the CTS-V Coupe is capped off by the 19 inch cast aluminum alloys that are available in either painted or polished finishes and wrapped with a set of sticky Michelin Pilot Sport 2 performance tires, all housing a monstrous set of Brembo brake calipers. We just hope they have enough spare parts left over to make a couple CTS-V Sport Wagons.

UPDATE 08/29/11: According to Cadillac, the breadth of technology that was used on the CTS-V represents a significant breakthrough in the industry, especially their so-called "Magnetic Ride Control Technology." Exactly how much of an innovation is it? Apparently, enough to even make Ferrari borrow it. Check out the new Cadillac commercial explaining how it all happened.

Here’s a sexier approach to the Chevrolet Volt. Cadillac’s Converj concept takes the electric car with a gas back powertrain (now called Voltec) from the Chevy and wraps it in a sleek body that reminds of a larger version of the CTS coupe. The Converj is a strict four-seater. While this is used to give this car a sportier image, this is also necessary because a big center section is taken up by the "T" shaped battery used to power the car. The battery pack contains more than 220 lithium-ion cells that can power the car for up to 40 miles. After the battery runs out, the electric will be replenished by a gas-powered generator. Just like the Volt, the car is designed to be fully charged after plugged in for eight hours on a normal household 120-volt outlet (three hours for 240v).
There is plenty of function to the Converj form. The dark roof contains solar panels to help recharge the car and the sleek body helps cheat the millage-killing wind. Now all that has to happen is for General Motors to find the capital to put the Cadillac of electric cars in production.
UPDATE 08/12/11: After a few jumps on both sides of the fence, Cadillac has officially given the green light for the production of the Converj. The latest news about Cadillac’s resident electric car concept is that GM executives have finally gone ahead and given their blessing to have the Converj hit the production block for a 2013 launch leading up to a release as a 2014 model. Took them a while to finally decide, but hey, better late than never, right?

The Cadillac SRX was unveiled at the 2009 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, and is going on sale starting at $33,330 for the base 3.0 Liter V6 powered front wheel drive version and climbs all the way up to $51,360 for the 2.8 Liter six cylinder Turbo Premium version. As the Cadillac of crossovers enters its second generation, the completely redesigned SRX delivers a dynamic alternative in terms of visual appeal and driving character to ordinary CUVs with its downsized fuel efficient gas burning engines. The SRX comes standard with a front wheel drive layout and is available with all wheel drive as an option. It is built atop a version of General Motors’ Theta platform that is also used for the Chevrolet Equinox and the Epsilon II platform that is also used for the European Opel Insignia.
UPDATE 04/12/2011: After being dramatically redesigned back in 2010, the Cadillac SRX has once again been put under the magnifying glass, but this time the changes that were made to the lineup were minimal. All SRX fans out there will have much to rejoice over as the 2012 Cadillac will get a more powerful version added to its line-up: a 3.6 liter direct-injected V-6 engine that will deliver a total of 300 HP and 260 lb.-ft. of torque.

UPDATE 04/10/12: Cadillac has unveiled the 2013 SRX at the New York Auto Show a series of exterior and interior updates, but the most important one is the addition of the company’s latest CUE - a in-vehicle user experience that incorporates touch-screen controls similar to the most popular mobile devices.

Cadillac unveiled the XTS Platinum Concept, a preview of future premium American elegance at the most appropriate place on the planet, the 2010 Detroit Auto Show. A while back we reported that the upscale arm of General Motors was preparing a new full size stretched wheelbase luxury sedan called XTS. The new concept is a big part of GM’s future plans and is a bold statement from a domestic automaker that they can confidently compete with the best luxury car builders from around the world; makes like BMW, Audi and Lexus. After all it does have Platinum in the name.
Drawing inspiration from the Cadillac Sixteen concept, the XTS concept’s exterior is highlighted by Cadillac’s Art and Science design language with features like vertical headlamps and taillights packed with LEDs and integrated light pipes that make for rich detail without being overbearing despite sitting on a set of 20 inch eleven spoke rims. Based on the Platinum concept’s dimensions, the XTS squeezes into the lineup between the current Cadillac STS and DTS, making it an excellent candidate to take on the A7 with its flowing fastback design and signature Cadillac chrome grill. The XTS concept is fitted luxurious leather wrapped interior full of warm tones and television sets that takes its inspiration from the intricate layering of an orchid’s petals and uses Organic Light Emitting Diode (O-LED) displays as a nod to the future as opposed to traditional gauges.
Cadillac made sure to incorporate a little green into their big black luxury concept, so aside from the glowing blue lams and long body body lines that give the car a dominating presence, the XTS also features a plug in hybrid propulsion system. Under the Platinum’s sheet metal lies a 3.6 Liter V6 gas burning power plant that makes a total of 350 HP and 295 lb-ft of torque combined with electric assistance in the form of a liquid cooled lithium ion pack, the same unit that will be found in the Chevy Volt.
