2018 Subaru WRX Raiu Edition
Subaru is releasing a new and exciting special edition version of the WRX in North America. One catch: the special edition WRX is exclusive to Canada, not the U.S. The model is called the WRX Raui Edition, which takes its name from the Japanese word that means “thunderstorm.” It carries a lot of exclusive features inside and out, but it’s also limited to just 100 units, making it a must-have item for our friends north of the border.
2019 Ram 1500 Sport
The all-new 2019 Ram 1500 hasn’t even hit showrooms yet, and Ram is already rolling out the special editions. Just this week saw the new iteration of the Texas-inspired Lone Star edition. But now, it’s Canada’s turn. Ram is launching a Canada-only trim called the Sport.

It’s not unusual for automakers to pay homage to their own history, incorporating throw-back Easter eggs that appeal to the brand loyal. Well, Land Rover has done something similar with the Range Rover Evoque, but with a slight twist. The Evoque NW8 special edition pays tribute to the historic creative district in Northwest London. You’ll likely recall the area on the iconic cover of the Beatles’ Abbey Road album. In fact, the NW8 designation of this special edition is that area’s postal code.
The homage to Abbey Road continues deeper as the Evoque’s treadplates, seat tags, and key fob are all adorned with a similar “zebra” pattern as the white roadway markings. Further setting the Evoque NW8 apart is its red-colored roof, mirror caps, and Range Rover lettering that contrast the Fuji White body color. The front grille, side vents, window accents and 20-inch wheels are all coated in black.
Land Rover is positioning the Evoque NW8 as a highly exclusive model, with only 1,000 set for production.

The Felino CB7 is a Quebec-born vehicle that Antoine Bessette, the man behind the project, describes as a vehicle that was "purpose built for the track" that could also be street legal. The company took four years to develop and build the concept car using only the finest materials around. The CB7 was unveiled at the 2014 Montreal International Auto Show, and from the looks of things, Felino built and developed a track racer that has the potential to be talked about by a lot of people for a long time.

For those looking to own a piece of a supercar without having to burn their pockets, a new Canadian kit-car manufacturer may have the answer.
Dubuc Super Light Cars, a straightforward name for a company if there ever was one, has officially unveiled the Tomahawk, a mid-engine kit car that looks the part of a sports car, albeit one that comes in a 2,000-pound package.
According to Dubuc SLC, the Tomahawk will come with a lightweight polymer body and a 300-pound aluminum monocoque. Both components have been bonded and bolted together, ensuring that the car’s overall dimensions aren’t compromised by the infusion of the two parts.
From there, prospective customers will have the choice of dropping any type of engine they want on the bay, including a gas engine or an electric motor. The suspension setup was developed using components from a C4-generation Chevrolet Corvette.
Owing itself to looking like a bonafide sports car, the Tomahawk also comes with a number of sporty components, highlighted by doors that actually open at a 75-degree angle. Even as a kit car, this bad boy also has door panels, an ergonomically-designed cockpit, a dashboard, console seats, a see-through Targa roof, side mirrors, and a DOT-approved windshield.
Given the dimensions of the cockpit, Dubuc SLC says that the Tomahawk can accommodate a wide range of body types, even somebody who’s 6’3" and weighs 275 pounds.
The Dubuc SLC is scheduled to make its debut at the Montreal International Auto Show this coming January. Once it goes on sale, the body and the frame kit will be priced at CAD$19,995, which is a little under USD$19,000 based on current exchange rates. All in all, the price for a complete bid is estimated to be around CAD$30,000, or somewhere in the USD$ 28,000 range.

When many people hear "an all-new Magnum," they think of a new and mighty delicious ice cream bar, but this certain isn’t an ice cream bar. The new Magnum MK5 is likely the hottest thing to come from Canada since Laura Vandervoort — it’s sleek, sexy and really, really fast.
After teasing it a few times, Canadian firm, Magnum Cars, decided to reveal the full details on the new MK5 track toy.
This racer clearly has its sites set on the BAC Mono, KTM X-Bow, Ariel Atom and the VUHL 05, and it features elements inspired by the Formula 1 and Le Mans prototypes.
Like its aforementioned competitors, the MK5 is a lightweight, rear-wheel-drive, two-seat racer built on the company’s passion for motorsport. It is the brainchild Bruno St-Jacques — the son of Jean-Pierre St-Jacques who founded of the Magnum cars company back in the 1960s. The MK5 was built from passion to racing because Bruno is a well-rounded and successful racecar driver, and the MK5 was built as his dream machine.
The MK5 will be limited to only 20 units per year and is priced from $139,000. Customers interested can place their orders now, but the first deliveries will not be made until late 2014.

We’re usually not prone to overt praises on these pages, but when it comes to Canadian tuner SR Auto Group, you can’t help but appreciate the level of work it does on its programs.
SR Auto Group has, on multiple occasions, taken a Lamborghini Aventador for a custom spin. And when presented with another of its kind to work on, it didn’t hesitate to put its hardhat on and get to work - again. That’s why we respect SR; no car is too difficult to give some aftermarket lovin’.
This time, the subject is a 2013 Nero Pegaso Aventador, a supercar that not only speaks the language of speed and power, but does so while wearing a menacing look on its face.
At the end of the day, SR Auto Group is all about bringing out the full potential of any super car it comes across. That includes the Aventador and to its credit, SR Auto Group never seems tire of giving the exotic Italian bull the respect it so richly deserves.

In August 2012, Canadian tuner SR Auto Group unveiled their latest program for the Ferrari 458 Italia, dubbed "Project Ice Blade". Apparently, we used that word "latest" a little too prematurely because SR Auto Group has a new program for the Italian supercar.
Calling this one "Project Black Mist," SR Auto Group once again used aerodynamic parts from Italian tuner Novitec Rosso. With the help of the Novitec kit - it includes a front lip, a rear diffuser, and a rear aero spoiler - SR Auto Group managed to enhance the lines and curves of the Italian bad boy. From there, the paint was matched to the original exterior, which, as SR describes was the reason why the program was christened ’Black Mist.’
Rounding out the upgrades, as per usual, are a new set of wheels that SR picked themselves. In this case, the chased wheels are 21" (on the front) and 22" (on the rear) modern gloss black PUR NE1 Monoblock wheels.
Suffice to say, it’s another program that SR Auto Group can tuck under their belts. At this point, we’re just happy that they’ve been hitting these projects out of the park.
The Scion FR-S has been in the news a lot lately. Recently, the Japanese sports coupe became the subject of an aerodynamic design build contest hosted by US-based tuner Stillen encouraging designers to come up with their unique body kits for FR-S.
Looks like Stillen’s not the only who’s about to do work on the FR-S. Our friends over at Fox Marketing also announced that they’re building a new FR-S project car and they’re bringing the entire gang along with them.
While Fox Marketing will collaborate with Yonaka Motorsports in overseeing the entire project, they’re enlisting a couple of their tuner buddies to take care of specific parts of the build, including BASF Refinish, which will be in charge of providing new clothes for the sports car. Meanwhile, WP Pro Brakes will be in charge of, well, the brakes, while Forgestar will be supplying the wheels. Other tuners that will be involved in the project include APR Performance, Takata Racing, and Toyo Tires.
The entire build will take place in Canada and while our only vestige of evidence is this rendering, we’re looking forward to seeing how the entire project plays out.
The Canadian police have added a new vehicle to their fleet starting 2011. The new Dodge Charger Enforcer features performance suspension tuning, heavy-duty anti-lock vented-disc brakes (ABS), front- and rear-stabilizer bars, 18-inch performance tires on steel wheels, and two-mode police-specific Electronic Stability Control (ESC) calibration, allowing the police to be ahead of the game when chasing the bad guys.
For the interior, the Charger Enforcer adds a Police Interface Module for easy equipment integration, police-duty front seats, column-mounted automatic transmission with Auto Stick, red/white LED interior lighting for night-vision equipment and more. The police officers will be protected by standard advanced multistage driver and front-passenger air bags, seat-mounted side-thorax air bags, supplemental side-curtain air bags for front and rear outboard passengers, driver’s knee bag, tire-pressure monitoring and more.
Under the hood, there is a standard E-85 capable 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, or if that’s not enough, the good guys in blue can opt for a 5.7-litre HEMI V8 engine with fuel-saving Multi-displacement System (MDS).
While Americans are making their way along the Detroit Auto Show floor, Canadians are also taking part of a show of their own: the Montreal International Auto Show. It was here that Mercedes decided to appropriately displayed the C63 AMG Affalterbach Edition, a special edition specially created for the Canadian market. There will be only 30 units built of this model, each priced at $81,500 (or around $82,360 USD).
This special edition not only features unique styling cues, but it also has an impressive list of special equipment that have never before been offered on a Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG. It comes painted in MAGNO Allanite Grey and will be distinguished by high-performance AMG brakes with red calipers, 19" AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels in black, carbon-fiber mirror housings, and a rear lip spoiler.
The Mercedes C63 AMG Affalterbach Edition will be offered with the AMG Premium Package that adds an extra 30 HP and removes the speed limiter. Looks pretty cool, but we’re just having trouble pronouncing its name!

For the second time in history, Acura Canada is offering their customers a new limited edition package which began selling on May 10, 2010 for the 2010 Acura TL. The first time this package was offered was when the TL Type S was given a cosmetic revamping in 2003 with a similar A-spec package. Acura, Honda’s luxury brand, will sell the new TL A-Spec package with a price tag of C$51,290.
The main feature on the new A-Spec package is the Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) which includes all of the features of the TL SH-AWD Technology Package trim. It can be nated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automatic transmission.
Compared to a standard TL model, the A-Spec package adds: 19-inch alloy wheels with special summer performance tires and full aero kit skirt package with front, side and rear skirts. The front and rear of the car are finished off with a midnight chrome grille and rear piece. The last little bit of flair is the ’A-Spec’ badge and ’A-Spec’ floor mats.
No mention is made to the number of packages that will be made of the Acura TL A-spec, but if they follow the mold created by the Canadian A-spec back in ’03 then they would be offering them in about 800 units.

The Kia Forte Koup is, top to bottom, one of the best models in Kia’s line-up - and that’s saying a lot. Fortunately for our neighbors in the Great White North, Kia will be releasing an upgraded package of the Forte Koup exclusively for them - a new R package that will be available for either the SX or EX model.
Among the new features included in the R package includes a performance exhaust, AIM drop-in performance air filter, stiffer springs, a strut tower brace, front skirts, side sills and a rear spoiler. The package is finished by 18-inch Europa wheels that are wrapped in Yokohama S-Drive rubber.
Sadly, the package comes with no performance upgrades, although we’re sure that those lucky Canadians wouldn’t mind it one bit because the car looks extremely awesome.
Pontiac Canada revealed the Wave5, a new model that will go on sale in 2008. It will be offered in two trims: base and SE, each backed by a "worry free" five-year/160,000 km transferable powertrain warranty, plus Roadside Assistance and Courtesy Transportation.
The Wave5 is powered by a new, Ecotec 1.6L DOHC four-cylinder engine. The sophisticated engine uses Dual Continuous Variable Cam Phasing - two continuously adjustable camshafts - to optimize the charge cycle for fuel economy and performance. As a result, this 16-valve DOHC engine delivers more horsepower than the previous engine, with ratings of 107 horsepower and 106 lb.-ft. of torque.
The 2009 Pontiac Wave5 also comes standard with advanced dual-stage frontal air bags and the GM Passenger Sensing System, as well as standard head/thorax seat-mounted side air bags for front passengers. The head/thorax seat-mounted side air bags deploy during side impacts and are triggered by a sophisticated sensor system in the front doors.
