You read that right – 16-year-old Sydney Rockwell competed and won the recent rock-bouncing event at the annual Anniversary Bash held at Rush Off-Road Park in northeastern Kentucky.

Humorously living up to her last name, Rockwell even placed above her dad in the event, along with the other male-dominated participants. The goal of the competition is to simply reach the summit with the cleanest run and the quickest time. While it sounds easy enough, even making it to the top is nothing short of a miracle.

Getting her to the top is her custom-built bouncer constructed from steel tubes bent and welded together. It’s powered by a snorting V-8 with loads of power and a robust automatic transmission. Naturally, both axles receive power and turn massive tires that are likely 40 inches tall.

So congrats to Sydney and thanks for introducing me to the second best reason to visit Kentucky – after the Corvette->ke1280 Mecca that is Bowling Green, of course.
