Let’s take a quick inventory of all the features the Citroen DS->ke3360 brought to the table: Self-leveling hydraulic suspension; an engine designed to slide under the car in a frontal impact; headlamps that turned with the front wheels; front-wheel drive; front disc brakes; a fiberglass roof. Not to mention futuristic styling that still manages to make modern cars look dull.

Our friends at Petrolicious recently profiled Citroen DS owner Jeff Suhy, who somehow draws an analogy between the DS and the meteoric rise of Nirvana in the early 1990s. With the release of Nevermind in 1991, the band changed the music landscape seemingly overnight. The Citroen DS had a similar effect on the auto industry.

Shortly after moving from the Midwest to California and landing a job in the music industry at A&M Records, Suhy found himself gravitating towards more esoteric things (it happens when you move to L.A.). Cars don’t get much more esoteric than old Citroens, so he bought a Citroen SM->ke2074 (one that incidentally belonged to Tommy Chong of Cheech and Chong). Unfortunately, the SM wasn’t in the best condition and Suhy ended up sinking a small fortune into it.

He emerged from the experience wiser and more knowledgeable of the temperamental nature of old Citroens,->ke22 and after a long search, he found this well-looked-after, one-owner DS. He uses it as a daily driver and plans to keep to keep doing so for the foreseeable future.
