So you have got a new 2007 Mini Cooper "R56" on order and your wandering about that complex key fob that comes with it and how to open the car if the fob battery dies. It turns out Mini has cleverly fitted a key , that is hidden, into the fob and it can be accessed by pressing the silver botton on the fob.

This though should not be a huge problem because when the fob is inserted into the ignition, the key fob is charged by the Mini itself. A pretty nifty feature that should keep your key fob powered and ready to go for on demand "Mini Motoring" throughout the life of your Cooper.
