It seems that the Lexus LF-A concept showed in Detroit in January of 2005 will no longer be just a concept. The spy photographers caught a LF-A prototype in testing at Nurburgring.

Could Lexus create a competitor for the Audi R8? Well it might be, as the LF-A will be powered by a V10 engine with an output of 500 hp and an expected top speed of 187 mph. A very interesting development for the LF-A is the development of an installation of a massive, fixed rear wing (which would surely be scaled down for production) in place of the smaller version from the previous prototypes.

The Lexus LF-A will go on sale late next year or early 2008 at an estimated price of $100000.
