The 2008 Mercedes C-Class was caught testing for the first time with less disguise. It is expected to debut at 2007 Geneva Motor Show and shortly after will go on sale. An etstate version it is expected 6 months later.

The 2008 C-Class will be powered by a 1.8 liter 4-cylinder engine with direct injection, with an horse power between 150 and 190. Another powerful versions will be a 2.5- and a 3.5-litre V6 engines with 210 hp to 270 hp. The AMG version will be powered by a 5.4 liter engine with an output up to 400-410 hp.

The AMG version is set to compete with the Audi RS4 and the future BMW M3.
