After unveiling the sixth generation Golf, Volkswagen is now testing the GTI version that is set to be revealed in at the Paris Motor Show in October.

The Golf GTI will be powered by an evolution of the current 2.0-liter turbocharged TFSI engine producing 211bhp. There will be a choice of gearboxes: a six speed manual or a new seven-speed sequential. Three and five-door versions are in the pipeline--we're showing you a rendering of the three-door with a possible bodykit.

Volkswagen will put in the next GTI the same active suspension system that debuted in the latest Scirocco, a system that adjusts damper stiffness, increasing it to improve agility or reducing it to boost refinement.
