The next generation Jaguar XJ luxury limousine will be a much more aggressive vehicle than its predecessor. The automaker will unveil their new XJ on July 9th of this year. Codenamed X351, the new sedan is a "fresh break for Jaguar," with headlamps inspired by the C-XF concept car, a full glass roof and a particularly interesting rear post treatment.

The future Jaguar XJ will use aluminum as its primary building material, with an aim at keeping the weight below 3,800 pounds. The engine lineup for the next XJ will include a 3.0 Liter V6 making 235 HP, a 5.0 Liter V8 pumping out 380 HP and a top of the line 5.0 Liter supercharged V8 making 503 HP. For alternatively fueled conscious individuals, Jaguar will offer a 3.0 Liter turbo diesel V6 making 237 HP and 271 lb-ft of torque.

So far, the Indian automaker hasn’t said anything about a high performance XJR version just yet. So for now, Mercedes Benz’s performance brand, AMG, can breath easy, but if Jaguar ever does decide to go all out on an XJ, you can bet that Top Speed will be in line for a test drive.
