2011 Lamborghini Murcielago successor - new details
As the calendar continues to turn, Lamborghini is getting closer and closer to the official unveiling of the successor to the Murcielago supercar line. Although Lamborghini has been tight-lipped with regards to what the car’s appearance looks like, it didn’t stop those resourceful ’car-parazzis’ from taking shots of the car during a recent testing session near Estoril in Portugal. The supercar is expected to grace us with its presence sometime in 2011 so we’re going to have to wait until we see the final result on the car before making any conclusions.
What has been brought to our attention is that the new Murcielago will feature a Reventon inspired design, a carbonfibre bodywork with a carbon composite tub instead of the welded steel spaceframe. The scissors doors will remain and the total weight will be kept under under 1500kg.
Under the hood we will see a naturally-aspirated, direct-injection V12 (6.0 or 7.0-liters) with a total output of 700bhp. Top speed will be in the area of 210 mph.
