The current BMW 3-Series has been around since 2005. While that doesn't make it ancient, the facelift it got this year signals that it's about time to start wondering what its replacement is going to look like. 2012 is about the time we should see the sixth generation of BMW's bread-n-butter car break cover, and the folks over at the Swedish site Tekniken Svarld have used the CS concept to come up with an idea about what it may look like.

This rendering uses harder and flatter edges than the current car, which gives that appearance of a much larger vehicle. This size problem could also just be related giving it the shrinky-dink treatment to a car built to have the same footprint as a 7-Series.

Although design may be debatable, we can be pretty confident that BMW will make heavy use of its eco-friendly technology called EfficientDynamics. This could also possibly include dropping some cylinders on engines in favor of turbocharging.
