Chevrolet->ke199 had no shortage of vehicles at the 2015 SEMA show,->ke216 and this Silverado->ke1787 blends into the crowd. Though not because it’s boring, but rather thanks to its military-derived camouflage. Ok, corny jokes aside, the Silverado Special Ops concept does take plenty of cues from military history and a naval paint scheme called “Razzle Dazzle.”

Designed to make ships hard to see against the horizon by enemy vessels, the three-tone paint job helps break up the ship’s character lines, making it hard to detect. The same can be said for this Silverado, provided its background was an ocean.

Chevy designers decided to pay tribute to the U.S. Special Forces with this concept.->ke169 Jim Campbell, GM’->ke1024s U.S. vice president of Performance Vehicles and Motorsports said, “This Silverado concept is a multipurpose truck that reflects the go-anywhere, do-anything commitment of special-forces teams.”

The concept is based on the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71. The newly refreshed truck->ke242 sports its revised grille design, along with a bed-mounted sports bar, custom rocker guards, and no less than six LED off-road lights. The design team didn’t leave the interior stock either.

Chevy didn’t specify what powertrain this particular Silverado comes with, but our guess is the 6.2-liter V-8 and eight-speed automatic transmission. Of course, 4WD is present.

Though we will likely see parts and accessories from this concept make production, it’s very unlikely Chevy will offer such a radical build to the general public – at least not the multi-tone paint job.
