The Dubai Police Department is well known for its affinity for high-performance, über luxurious, and extravagantly expensive lineup of police cars. The list includes Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Mercedes-AMGs, and even a Bugatti. But now, the department has a new ride: this modified 2015 GMC Sierra pickup truck.

The details surrounding this truck are still scares, but it’s easy to see the cops didn’t leave this GMC stock. The truck now sports a massive pre-runner bumper complete with an LED light bar, upgraded suspension bits with what looks like four inches of lift, and a sweet aftermarket wheel and tire package. And doesn’t even include whatever police gear might be found inside the cab.

Outside the truck, the GMC is wrapped in the familiar white and green Dubai police livery with a light bar up top. I’d suspect the truck also has wig-wag lights embedded in the headlights and taillights for good measure. The truck is finished off with a macho set of pocketed fender flairs to protect that wrap job from getting sandblasted.

Though the GMC Sierra single cab is offered with both the 4.3-liter V-6 and the optional 5.3-liter V-8, I’d expect the Dubai police to have opted for the 355-horsepower V-8. The EcoTec3 engine is good for 383 pound-feet of torque, which should come in handy when trudging through deep sand.

Why It Matters

It’s always fun to keep up with Dubai’s police vehicle, especially when they’re trucks. The GMC Sierra joins a few other truck-based vehicles, including the Mercedes G-Wagen and a Toyota Land Cruiser.

While the specialty vehicles like the Ferraris, BMWs, and Lamborghinis – along with the GMC on TopSpeed Trucks – make the news, Dubai does have a large quantity of less-impressive vehicles that carry out the daily routines.
