The awesome 2016 Ford Focus RS may have launched at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show->ke228 in March, but the Blue Oval->ke31 has yet to finalize the hot-hatch for its future customers. At least that's how I'd explain the car's recent trip to the Nurburgring->ke999 track, the place where all performance vehicles are taken for development and honing.

Even though the footage courtesy of YouTube user "cvdzijden" is rather short, it shows a black Focus RS->ke438 as it is being put through it paces. There's even a bit of drifting action, which suggests the drivers was instructed to test the hatchback->ke304 to its limits. This is likely the Focus RS' final appearance on the "Green Hell," as the hot-hatch is being readied to go on sale later this year.

As a brief reminder, the 2016 Focus RS is powered by a 2.3-liter, EcoBoost, four-cylinder taken straight out of the 2015 Mustang. Specific output figures are still a mystery, but Ford claims the four-pot will crank out "well in excess of 316 horsepower." One of its main highlights is the all-wheel-drive system, which can send up to 70 percent of the available torque to the rear axle.

Pricing is likely to start anywhere between $35,000 and $40,000, which would put the Focus RS in the same ballpark as the Volkswagen Golf R. Stay tuned for info, we'll be back as soon as we have it.
