Geiger Cars is mostly known for its aftermarket programs for some of America’s finest vehicles, but the German company also serves as a distributor of American performance cars across the Atlantic. Recently, Geiger Cars announced that it has taken deliveries of the 2016 Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang and is ready to sell them to anyone looking to own the pinnacle of Mustang->ke428 performance.

For now, Geiger Cars is selling the Shelby GT350 Mustang->ke1359 in stock configuration so don’t expect any cosmetic, aerodynamic, or performance upgrades on the muscle car.->ke507 That’s not to say that there won’t be any in the future, but for the purposes of keeping the expectations to a minimum for the time being, the German tuner will begin rolling out the GT350 Mustang in stock form before embarking on any aftermarket modifications.

The 2016 Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang is already available to customers in Europe via Geiger Cars. The price starts at €82,500, which is close to $90,000 based on current exchange rates. The price is much more expensive than the $50,000-starting price of the muscle car in the US. That can be attributed to the extra taxes that come with buying the car in Europe.

Why it matters

This is great news for fans of the late Shelby Carroll over in Europe. Not only do they get the latest and quite possibly greatest Shelby iteration of the Mustang, they get access to it without having to go to the US to have it imported back to their countries. With Geiger Cars now offering the muscle car, it’s going to be a lot easier to buy one, even if it means spending a lot more for it. I wouldn’t mind paying close to double for it because the Shelby GT350 Mustang is that good of a muscle car.

As a refresher, let's take a quick look at what this muscle-flexing pony car has to offer. For the record, The 2016 Shelby GT350 Mustang is recognized as the most aggressive-looking Mustang in quite some time. Ford takes most of the credit for making the GT350 look tauter and more muscular than the standard Mustangs of today. The front section, for instance, received so many upgrades that it has become barely recognizable from all other Mustangs. It has a new front bumper and spoiler that helps create extra downforce for the front axles. The hood also received an upgrade with the addition of a massive vent. Likewise, the fog lights have been taken out in favor of cooling for the brakes and even the nose badge has been replaced by a Shelby badge.

At the back, a barely noticeable rear-mounted spoiler lip was installed to help reduce drag while a new diffuser provides a healthy assist in providing more usable downforce while also increasing the airflow to give the pony car a more streamlined performance character. These additions are a big reason why Geiger Cars didn’t do anything to offset what Ford already did. So, when you’re looking at this Geiger-tuned Shelby GT350 Mustang, it does not come with any aftermarket changes to the body. Even the wheels - a set of 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, measuring 295/35ZR19 in the front and 305/35ZR19 at the back - come in stock form.

The interior is the same story. Everything you see inside comes from Ford, not Geiger Cars. That includes the Recaro sports seats that have been optimized for track use, while also remaining comfortable for long drives. Ford also took out all the flashy chrome finishes in the cabin in favor of something more muted. The gauges have also been replaced to accommodate the GT350’s new performance capabilities.

Power comes in the form of a race-spec 5.2-liter flat-plane crank V-8 engine that produces in excess of 533 horsepower at 429 pound-feet of torque, making the V-8 the most powerful naturally aspirated engine Ford has ever created. All that power is then sent to rear wheels courtesy of a six-speed manual Tremac transmission. A Torsen limited-slip differential was also installed in the rear wheels to help provide top-class traction when needed.

To accommodate its power, Ford also bolstered the car’s suspension setup with adaptive MagneRide damping capabilities. Brembro brakes were also installed and include 15.4 inche, cross-drilled vented discs clamped by six-pot callipers in the front, and 15-inch cross-drilled vented discs with four-pot callipers at the back.
