Situated between the bustling street action of downtown Monterey and the on-track heroics of Laguna Seca, you’ll find the Monterey Jet Center, a short stretch of tarmac that provides quick and easy access to all the delights that the central California coast has to offer. Every August, this small regional airport plays host to the McCall Motorworks Revival, gathering together a few thousand well-to-do auto aficionados seeking the kind of atmosphere only available in the presence of high-end four-wheeled internal combustion. Now celebrating its 25th year running, this annual gala mixes classic cars, antiques, and supercars with equal parts motorcycles, private aircraft, and delectable cuisine, creating a heady cocktail perfectly suited to kick-off Monterey Car Week. Sounds like our kinda party.

This year’s event is shaping up to be every bit as extravagant as it’s been in years past, and we’ll be on the scene bringing you the all the latest. Read on to get the lowdown on what to expect.

Update 08-18-2016: We were on the scene at McCall and got some great video of the show. Check it all out for yourself below.

A Little Bit of Background

The McCall Motorworks Revival essentially started out as a small BBQ get-together amongst friends. Over time, the party grew into a premiere world-class motoring event, but the point isn’t to be the biggest – rather, it’s about being the best. The event is now regularly attended by a select group of VIPs, racing personalities, and industry elite, combining the upper crust of the automotive world with fashion and lifestyle.

Check out our coverage of last year’s event here.

The Machines

But of course, the primary focus is on the three acres of uber-expensive machinery on display. Unlike other car events, the McCall party lets attendees get up close and personal with the displays, providing ample opportunities to find that next big dream mobile.

Here are just a few of the vehicles, some of which have shown up in the past, some of which are scheduled to show in 2016:

Acura NSX (second generation)

Antron Brown’s and Del Wosham’s NHRA Top Fuel Championship-winning drag racers

Aston Martin One-77

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

De Tomaso P70

Ferrari 275 GTB

Ford GT40

Jaguar E-Type

Jaguar XK-SS

Koenigsegg Agera RS

Koenigsegg CCX

Koenigsegg Regera

Kyle Busch’s NASCAR Sprint Cup-winning Toyota Camry

Lykan Hypersport

Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision GT

Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR

Pagani Huayra

Porsche 908 LT

Shelby Brock Daytona Coupe

Toyota FT-1

In addition to the cars, expect to see a large collection of motorcycles, helicopters, and aircraft filling the hangars, from vintage to the modern day.

The Food And Drink

With a roster like that, you can’t be caught serving corn chips and soda.

Complementing the machines this year will be hors d’oeuvres and desserts from four celebrity chefs, plus drinks from five Northern California wineries to wash it all down.

Luxury On Display

Being a full-scale luxury event, the McCall Motorworks Revival will also throw in displays of the appropriate lifestyle accouterments to go with the Bugattis and Gulfstreams; for example, designer handbags, or timepieces from Swiss watchmaker Baume et Mercier.
