So what if 2017 is still seven years from now; some people just have vivid imaginations. Jacob McMurry is one designer that isn’t afraid to experiment with his works and his latest creation – a rendering of a 2017 Alfa Romeo->ke1386 – is clearly no exception.

Described as someting in the range of what should be Aston Martin’s top-of-the-line model, McMurry’s design - he calls it the 2017 Alfa Romeo Executive Fastback Saloon - has ‘futuristic’ written all over it. The car’s overall shape is unique in its own right, especially the tail, which, according to McMurry was inspired by the gondolas of Venice. The ‘sliced’ hood in the front end, as well as the clear glass roof that goes all the way to the rear are a few more examples of McMurry’s rather unorthodox design.

The good thing about designing a car for a calendar year that’s a long way from the present is that you can go bananas with your design. While we’ve seen some pretty good ones in the past, Jacob McMurry’s take on this 2017 Alfa Romeo could have been one of them if it wasn’t for the gondola-looking rear end, which, to be honest, is just completely out of place.
