Rumors about GM working on a mid-engined Corvette surfaced ever since the automaker trademarked the Zora name back in June 2014. Since then, many scenarios have come into the spotlight, including a separate line for the mid-engined Corvette and that of a hybrid model by 2020. At some point, GM was even caught testing a Holden Ute mule with an engine in its bed, believed to be the first sighting of what would become a mid-ship ’Vette. More recently though, Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter denied such plans, adding further confusion to the matter. Whether the Corvette will indeed get a mid-engined version remains a mystery at this point, but the thought of having a full-fledged, Chevy supercar is as exciting as it gets. With that in mind, I’m here to bring you one of the coolest renderings of the yet unconfirmed mid-engined C8.
