Porsche->ke1 just dropped details on the new 911 Turbo and Turbo S ahead of an official debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.->ke222 The updated Stuttgart icon brings tweaked styling, more speed, and a higher price.

Customers can choose between either a coupe->ke141 or cabriolet->ke144 body style. The frontend was redesigned, sporting side air blades, narrow headlights, and another fin in the central intake. The rear was also updated with redesigned tailpipes. All models get new 20-inch wheels.

The 3.8-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder powering the Turbo now creates 540 horsepower, 20 more than before, thanks to modifications to the intake ports, cylinder heads, and fuel system. A sprint to 60 mph takes 2.9 seconds, and top speed is now rated at 198 mph. Meanwhile, the Turbo S makes 580 horsepower thanks to new turbos and an elevated 7,200-rpm redline, hitting 60 mph in 2.8 seconds and topping out at 205 mph.

Porsche says fuel consumption was reduced, but will reveal exact figures at a later date.

Mercifully, the Sport Chrono package is now standard on all 911 Turbo models, and includes a sport steering wheel with a drive mode selector inspired by the 918 Spyder.->ke3629 There's also a Sport Response button that delivers “optimal” acceleration for 20-second increments. The Porsche Stability Management (PSM) system now has a high threshold Sport Mode for less electronic intervention when pushing the limits of adhesion. More confident individuals can turn PSM off altogether.

Inside, there’s the latest iteration of Porsche Communication Management infotainment. Navigation comes standard. There’s also a 7-inch monitor and 555-watt Bose sound system with 12 speakers, an active subwoofer, and a center speaker.

Options include lane change assist, and a lift system to raise the nose over speed bumps and steeply angled driveways. Park assist with a reversing camera and LED headlights with the Porsche Dynamic Light System come standard across the Turbo range.

Pricing starts at $159,200 for the Turbo and tops out at $200,400 for the Turbo S Cabriolet.
