The first-gen Audi A1 was launched in 2010. Since then, the car has earned a reputation for getting better with tiny tweaks and additions added every now and then. Eight years later, the Audi A1 is back with an all-new iteration. It has improved in every aspect over the 2010 A1. The next-gen Audi A1 was revealed at the Paris Motor Show.

What’s New in the A1?

It measures 4.03 meters in length, 1.74 meters in width, and 1.4 meters in height. With 11.8 cubic feet of cargo room with the rear seats in place, and 38.5 cubes with the second seat flat, the new A1 is more spacious than the previous model by 2.3 cubic feet. The show-car was a red A1 with white rally-inspired wheels. This is Audi’s way of paying homage to the Group B rally car with the same moniker. The wheels can be availed in three different wheel options: 15-, 16-, and 17-inch units depending on trim.

On the inside, the A1 comes with a standard 8.8-inch MMI Touch infotainment system, with top-trim options getting a larger 10.1-inch option. The features like Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Navigation, etc. are also present.

Powertrain

The car gets better under the hood as well. The base trim is offered with a 1.4-liter three-cylinder unit that produces 95 horses. It mates to either a six-speed manual, or an S-tronic dual-clutch transmission.

Conclusion

The 2019 Audi A1 will launch exclusively for Europe by the end of the year. The car will not be available in the U.S. market. The car looks more intimidating than the previous iteration, and has also gotten better in every other department. What are your thoughts on the Audi A1?
