Jaguar Land Rover is apparently testing its next-generation Range Rover Evoque. Our spy photographers captured an Evoque test mule running wild in the streets with its front end covered in camouflage. JLR has not issued a statement regarding future iterations of the Evoke, but we do know the automaker is planning to hybridize up to 50 percent of its lineup. And thanks to high-voltage warning stickers see on its exterior, and we’d say it’s a safe bet the Evoque will lead the charge.

It is clear this Evoque test mule is a smidge wider than the current production model, meaning it could see more interior space, along with more room under the hood for JLR’s Ingenium turbodiesel powerplant and hybrid drivetrain components. The wheelbase appears to be unchanged, however.

The Range Rover Evoque is currently offered in three body styles: the two-door coupe, the four-door wagon, and the two-door convertible. All three are expected to make the generational jump.

We suspect the new Evoque will arrive in Europe and other parts of the world in 2019, with delivery to the U.S. starting for the 2020 model year. We will keep you updated as information becomes available.
