The sedan version of the new Toyota Corolla will officially debut this Thursday, November 15, according to a tweet from the Japanese automaker's American account. Unveiled in hatchback form at the 2018 New York Auto Show, the four-door Corolla will make its first public appearance at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 30.

Having already seen the hatchback, the sedan's design isn't much of a mystery. However, a shadowy teaser release by Toyota shows a revised front bumper. While it retains the headlamps and grille layout of the hatchback, the four-door sports a trapezoidal grille and bigger, square side vents (they seem fake) instead of the five-door model's triangular housings for the foglamps. The nose is also a bit different, missing the V-shaped element in the narrow grille. The "Toyota" logo is also placed higher, on a body-colored element.

It's the rear end that will be brand-new, but unfortunately there's no teaser to run by. Expect the four-door to have a less aggressive design overall, though. The interior should be identical, with the same clean center stack and big screen on top, as well as a modern looking instrument cluster. Rear passengers should have a bit less headroom if Toyota decided to go with a coupe-style roof.

The sedan will share underpinnings with the hatchback, so look for the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder under the hood. The new engine is smaller and lighter than the outgoing 1.8-liter unit and also generates more oomph at 168 horsepower.

Following its U.S. debut, the Corolla sedan will be unveiled in China, where it will spawn a Levin version.
