Alfa Romeo resurrected the Giulia name back in 2015 and it immediately became a serious contender in its segment. Of course, the top of the cherry was the Quadrofoglio (QV), which was only recently overshadowed by the track-focused Giulia GTAm. But what happens if you want the QV’s usability with performance greater than that of the GTAm? Manhart came up with a solution in the form of the Alfa Romeo Giulia QV 600.

The Giulia Quadrofoglio is pretty impressive out of the box. Its “not-Ferrari” 2.9-liter twin-turbo V-6 makes 503 horsepower (375 kilowatts) and 442 pound-feet (600 Nm), mated to a ZF eight-speed automatic. Until 2018, you could also get it with a six-speed manual. The rear-wheel-drive performance sedan also manages a 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) time of 3.8 seconds on its way to 190 mph (307 km/h).

The Giulia may have been more powerful than the BMW M3 and Mercedes C63 AMG, but it no longer has that advantage. Manhart changes that with the QV 600. The name isn’t entirely correct, as the car now makes more than 600 horsepower thanks to upgraded turbochargers, new downpipes with 200-cell catalytic converters, and new ECU software. The result is 653 horsepower and 583 pound-feet (790 Nm).

No performance figures have been given by Manhart, but we expect the 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) time would have shaved about 0.5 seconds, while the top speed would be in the ballpark of 200 mph (322 km/h). Regardless, this is currently the most powerful Alfa Romeo Giulia, in the world.

Manhart has added a lower suspension and new 20-inch wheels, which replace the 19-inch stock ones, with identical width. The QV 600 scores wider and lower tires on both axles, now measuring 255/30R20 at the front and 295/25R20 at the rear versus 245/35R19 at the front and 285/30R20 at the rear, in stock form. The stock braking system has been left untouched, as it was deemed sufficient by the German tuner.

In addition to the more aggressive stance and new wheels, the QV 600’s exterior also benefits from a dual longitudinal stripe that goes front to back, with yellow accents throughout the whole body. You also get a sign on the back that says QV 600, just to let you know it’s not just a Giulia QV with some light exterior mods.

Manhart will make only 10 examples of the Alfa Romeo Giulia QV 600 and each one will cost €119,000 or approximately $138,000 at the time of writing this article. While we are used to seeing the German tuner meddle mostly with German vehicles, this is not the first time Manhart surprises us. Not long ago, Manhart put a grille on the Tesla Model 3 and now, the first Italian, rear-wheel-drive sedan in 30 years has been blessed by the Manhart treatment, and it sounds like it’s going to be a riot, provided you are willing to spend the asking price.
