Taking care of the models in your lineup, upgrading them on a yearly basis or simply applying a nip and tuck every now and then is pretty much like nurturing children.

For the 2021MY, Porsche is making sure the 718 Boxster and Cayman brothers are in top shape to perform in the market but most importantly, on the road, too.

A most welcome tech infusion

Porsche says that every 718 Boxster or Cayman variant (including the T, S, and GTS 4.0) comes with automatic two-zone climate control. On top of that, you also get heated front seats and auto-dimming mirrors at no extra cost.

Also standard are Apple CarPlay and Porsche’s Dynamic Light System (PDLS) that brings bi-xenon headlights to the table. One mention here, though: GTS 4.0 models get black bi-xenon light clusters.

On the mechanical front, things remain unchanged. Porsche’s six-speed manual transmission is a standard fitment, but you can still opt for the seven-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox as long as you’re willing to shell out extra cash. The PDK is now available for the GT4, Spyder, and GTS 4.0 model, too.

It’s also worth mentioning that if you set your eyes on a new 2021 Porsche 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 or Cayman GTS 4.0, the carmaker is now taking orders.

The sports cars are fitted with a 4.0-liter naturally-aspirated flat-six powerplant that cranks out 394 horsepower and 309 pound-feet of torque. 0-60 takes 4.3 seconds, with top speed coming in at 182 mph.

Porsche 718 Pricing

The 2021 Porsche 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 starts at $88,900, while the 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 requires at least $86,800 (prices don’t include the $1,350 delivery fee).

The entry-level 718 Boxster costs $62,000, with the 718 Cayman coming in at $59,900 (again, without the $1,350 delivery fee).
