This ultra-exclusive model will come with 1,200 horses under the hood!

The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX took the automotive world by a storm. Powered by a V-8 Hellcat engine that makes over 700 horses, this big, bulky truck takes just 4.5 seconds to hit the 60 mph mark. Just when you thought this couldn’t get any better, Hennessey decided to throw in a surprise. The aftermarket company has announced a 6x6 conversion of the “Quickest, Fastest and Most Powerful Mass-produced Truck in the World”. Called the Mammoth 6x6, Hennessey will only build three examples of this 1,200-horsepower beast and sell it at half-a-million bucks a pop. God bless Hennessey.

This Is Going To Be A Ridiculous Build!

Hennessey has built two six-wheel-drive trucks in the past, the first one being the VelociRaptor 6x6 based on Ford Raptor and Goliath 6x6 based on the Chevy Silverado. They are priced at $349,000 and $375,000 respectively. This time, however, Hennessey has taken things up by a notch. The Mammoth 6x6 is based on the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX and is all set to be the “biggest and most powerful truck in the company’s 29-year history”.

Hennessey will swap the 6.2-liter, supercharged V-8 HEMI Hellcat engine in favor of a 7.0-liter Hellephant engine.

This engine was developed by Mopar and unveiled at the 2018 SEMA Show. In the stock form, this 7.0-liter, V-8 is paired to a 3.0-liter supercharged that makes 15 pounds of boost. The result of this is 1,000 horses and 950 pound-feet of torque. But, Hennessey wasn’t satisfied with it. The tuner decided to pump up the power figures to build one of the most powerful trucks to grace our planet ever.

In the Mammoth 6x6, this Hellephant engine makes 1,200 horses!

The torque figures aren’t announced yet, but you can expect it to be well over 1,000 pound-feet.

This is what the company’s CEO, John Hennessey, had to say, “We are very excited about the Ram TRX. MAMMOTH 6X6 powered by a 1200 HP Hellephant motor is just a completely ridiculous idea, which is exactly why we are doing this. We are only going to build three examples which will likely make this the most exclusive and most expensive truck we’ve ever built.”

Apart from the engine swap, the truck will receive a third axle and an all-new truck bed as well. The other changes will include a fully upgraded off-road suspension, bespoke interior, and upgraded front and rear bumpers with upgraded LED lights, amongst other things.

Hennessey will build just three examples of this truck and orders for the same will open on September 4, 2020, at noon central time. Orders can be placed only over the phone. As mentioned earlier, the Hennessey Mammoth 6x6 will be priced at $500,000. This includes the price of the base 2021 Ram 1500 TRX as well. Ram has said that the truck is expected to reach the dealerships early next year. Hennessey hasn’t announced the delivery date, but you can expect the Mammoth 6x6 to be delivered around mid-2021, if it receives orders, that is.

This is the third 6x6 build by Hennessey, and so far, the company has sold 13 examples of the VelociRaptor 6x6 since its introduction in 2017 and two examples of the Goliath 6x6 since 2019.
