The Mopar Dodge Durango joins a long list of Mopar special edition models, the last one being the Mopar 2021 Ram 1500 unveiled earlier this year. To keep this special edition Durango exclusive, only 250 units will be built for the North American market.

The Mopar Dodge Durango is mostly an aesthetic and handling upgrade over the standard Durango R/T. Coming in with two color choices, White Knuckle or DB Black, the special edition Dodge Durango is based on the R/T AWD variant with the Plus Group and Tow N Go Package.

From the outside, Mopar has added a couple of blue elements such as the Mopar body stripe and Brembo brake calipers. There's also a Mopar-branded grille, unique 20-inch wheels, and a 1-inch lowering kit, which is claimed to improve handling and steering response.

Step inside the Mopar Dodge Durango, and you'll be greeted to leather and suede seats that feature Mopar blue stitching and embroidered Mopar logos on the seatbacks. Other interior upgrades include a redesigned instrument panel with the Mopar logo, sport pedals, and all-weather floor mats.

Since this is based on the R/T variant, this special edition Durango comes with a 5.7-liter V8 that produces 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent through an all-wheel drive (AWD) system via an 8-speed automatic. While the engine has been untouched, the Mopar Durango does come with an SRT-performance exhaust for a more distinct engine note. Also equipped as standard is an electronic limited-slip differential (LSD) and SRT active damping suspension.

The Mopar Dodge Durango will be available for order in dealers by early 2022. As mentioned, only 250 units will be built, 200 of which are destined for the United States and 50 for Canada.

The special edition package adds $3,995 to the 2022 Dodge Durango R/T's price tag. To make the ownership experience even more special, every Mopar Durango comes with an exclusive metal certificate of authenticity that shows the vehicle's build number and a special rendering of the vehicle by the Mopar design team.
