Back in 2021 at the Shanghai Auto Show Lincoln was presenting the Zephyr Reflection Concept. Then, at the beginning of November 2021 the first leaked images offered us the first look at the production version. And now, as no surprise, the production version made its world debut at the Auto Guangzhou 2021.

The new Zephyr will be the first Lincoln model locally produced in China, and only for the Chinese market.

What will the U.S. market miss?

First of all a gorgeous looking car. If you put the Zephyr next to the American Continental you will see a very big difference. The new Zephyr is a large sedan, with very nicely shaped elegant lines. Lincoln did promised that this is the future face of its design, so hopefully the next American models will look just as good.

The 2022 Zephyr brings a few new design features. First of all notice that the LED daytime running lights are integrated into the headlights and they continue with a chrome strip until they reach the Lincoln emblem. The tail lamps also feature a 3D floating effect and are connecting by a LED strip.

The sedan was built on a 2,900 mm (114 inches) wheelbase and it will have a length of 4,982 mm (196.1 inches) that will make it a strong competitor for models like BMW 5 Series, Audi A6, or Mercedes E-Class.

The interior is defined by luxury too

Being a mid-sized sedan the Zephyr offers ample rear seating space and legroom. Both driver and passenger will benefit from the latest technology features and tons of luxury features.

This means that it will cover not only the central section like in any other car, but it will run towards the front area of the passenger seat. The infotainment system uses a Zephyr-exclusive Nebula software that was inspired by "the cosmos and the calming night sky."

Customers will have to choose between four Relaxing Modes, several digital scents, and 128-color interior ambient lighting options to create the car of their dream.

What about the engine?

The 2022 Zephyr is offered with a standard 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, that delivers a total of 235 horsepower and is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

The new Zephyr will go on sale in the first quarter of 2022.
