In the past few months, BMW has been very busy testing and teasing the future M3 Touring. If back in October 2021 the M3 Touring was caught testing around Nurburgring, the beginning of January 2022 gave us a teaser that announced the car is indeed going to be launched this year. The bad news, however, is that the M3 Touring won't be offered in the United States, because it will be bad for business. Testing however continues in Europe, and our spy photographers were just on the right place to take a few more shots of the next wagon, including some images of the interior.

As expected, the front fascia will be nearly identical to the M3 and the M4, including that massive bucktooth grille. The entire body features an aggressive look and that little roof spoiler makes the wagon even sportier. Quad exhaust pipes and bigger wheels complete the picture.

The new spy shots also give us a pretty clear look of the interior. While we expect most of it to be carried over from the sedan, it looks like the Touring version will use an updated iDrive8 infotainment system with a bigger display. This treatment will be applied for all the models in the 3-Series lineup, including the facelift M3 sedan.

Just like the sedan version, the M3 Touring Competition will be powered by a 3.0-liter inline-six engine that delivers a total of 503 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. This will place the M3 Touring Competition above the Audi RS4 Avant, but way under the future Mercedes-AMG C63. Rumors suggest that the new generation C63 Estate will be powered by a 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine using hybrid technology to maximize its power. In fact, in the C63 S Touring, if rumors will be true, power will go up to 643 horsepower!
