The current generation Porsche Cayenne was announced back in 2017, and, with the exception of the Coupe version no major updates were made to it. Now however a facelift version is being prepared, and will most likely be launched sometime in the summer of 2022.

Our spy photographers caught a new prototype out for a testing session in the snow and, it looks a lot more production ready than previous prototypes.

The prototype wears very little camouflage, which means of courses changes will be minimal.

First you will notice that the headlights will get a new design and will be slimmer. Porsche engineers tried to hide that with some camouflage foil, but they are not fooling anyone. The front bumper also gets a new design, and the engine hood features more sculpted lines.

In the rear, the bumper will also be redesigned, and the taillights and the brake lights are now wider and reaching almost into the middle of the car.

As for the interior, we expect it to be inspired by the new Porsche 911. There should be a new design for the center console and the gear changer, while the dash will get fully digital dials. There will also be a new sat-nav / infotainment screen.

Porsche will most likely offer some small tweaks under the hood too. Expect all the engines to be carried over, meaning we will still have to choose between 3.0-litre twin-turbo V-6 or a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V-8, but most likely output will be slightly increased.
