What's a SUV without a coupe version, right? Or at least that's how it seems lately -- every maker in the world thinks that once they have a SUV on the market, a "coupe" version should also follow. That's also the case with Skoda's first all-electric SUV. After the standard Enyaq iV was announced back in September 2020, now is time for its coupe version. And, in the same time with the standard coupe version, Skoda also announced the vRS variant. As you probably guessed it, this is nothing else than a Czech version of the previously announced Volkswagen ID.5 GTX.

What powers the new Skoda Enyaq Coupe iV vRS?

Just like the ID.4 and the ID.5 electric SUVs from Volkswagen, the new Enyaq was built on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB modular electric car platform. But, while the ID.5 GTX was launched with a 77-kWh battery, the Enyaq Coupe iV vRS is offered with a 82 kWh battery. While Skoda says nothing about the vRS' range, it did announced that the Enyaq Coupe's range tops out at 339 miles in the WLTP cycle.

The Enyaq vRS is powered by two electric motors that deliver a total of 295 horsepower and 340 pound-feet of torque. It goes from 0 to 62 mph in just 6.5 seconds and can reach a top speed of 111 mph.

Just for the sake of comparison, a previously launched Skoda Octavia vRS iV offered a total of 242 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque!

The 82‑kWh battery only needs 29 minutes to charge from 10 to 80%, and at home it can be charged overnight in six to eight hours using an AC ŠKODA iV Charger wall box delivering up to 11 kW.

What differentiate it from the rest of the lineup?

The Enyaq vRS was built on a sports chassis and is a lot more dynamic than the base Enyaq. First of all its ride height was lowered: 15 mm at the front and 10 mm at the rear.

The first difference are the headlights: in the vRS full-LED Matrix headlights are offered as standard. Within these, each high-beam module features 24 LEDs, which can be controlled individually and enable the driver to have the high beam on at all times without dazzling other road users.

Then it gets the usual, distinctive vRS design cues. The grille is specific to all Skoda electric model: named "Crystal face" it comes with 131 LEDs. On the vRS it gets the traditional gloss black surround; same goes for the window trim and rear diffuser. The air curtain trim comes with an additional center piece forming an E on the vRS. Like all the other vRS models, the Enyaq features a full-length red reflector on its rear bumper and it gets the specific vRS emblem.

The model sits of standard black 20-inch Taurus wheels, but 21-inch Vision wheels with an anthracite finish are offered as an option.

How about the interior?

The Enyaq Coupe iV vRS is offered exclusively with the Design Selection ‘vRS Suite’ interior. This includes seats made of black perforated leather with grey piping and contrasting stitching; the multifunction sports steering wheel is also wrapped in leather and is adorned by an vRS badge. For the dashboard Skoda opted for a leather-look material to match the seats, decorated of course with contrasting stitching. Also, the dashboard and door trim feature carbon‑fiber‑effect decorative strips, the pedals feature an aluminum design, and the headrest feature the usual vRS logo.

As standard features, the Enyaq vRS will offer panoramic glass roof, 13-inch touchscreen for the infotainment, a 5.3-inch fully digital driver's display and tri-zone Climatronic.

The new Enyaq Coupe has a boot capacity of 570 liters (20.1 cubic feet).

The new Skoda Enyaq Coupe iV will go on sale later this year. Next to the vRS model, customers will also be able to choose between the 80x or the Sportsline versions.
