We knew for a few months now that Porsche is already working on a new generation Panamera - even if we are still waiting for the rest of the facelifted Panamera models to be revealed. The first time we caught the next-generation Panamera out for testing we thought we are looking at yet another facelift, but the second round of spy shots made it clear: the third-generation Panamera is on the way. Today our spy photographers caught the next Panamera out for a new testing session in the cold weather of the Arctic Circle.

Of course, we are looking at a new generation Panamera, but you should know that it will be more of a refresh than a new model. It will be built on the same platform as the current model, with only the technology being heavily revised and adapted.

This generation Panamera will also be the last model to be offered with a combustion engine, as after that Porsche's entire lineup will be electrified.

When it comes to the exterior look, both the front and the rear end, including the tailgate, will be heavily revised. Inside, the passenger compartment will retain its shape and size, but the entire look and technology will be new. Also, the new generation Panamera will get a completely new fuel tank, which is why the fuel filler cap will be somewhat more opulent in the future.

We have no idea what changes will be made to the lineup, but Porsche needs to come up with some serious changes since its range-topping model, the Turbo S E-Hybrid is way less powerful than the competition: 690 horsepower versus 843 horsepower in the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 63S E-Performance and 1,020 horsepower in the Tesla Model S Plaid.

Expect the new generation Panamera to be launched towards the end of 2023, with sales to begin in 2024.
