When you name your latest supercar after one of the greatest Formula 1 drivers to ever grace a racetrack, there are a few assumptions to be made. Firstly, the car in question will be blisteringly, outrageously fast, and secondly, it’ll be quite the handful behind the wheel. Unfortunately for one McLaren Senna customer, these were two lessons learned the hard way.

It Could Have Been Worse

As you can see from the above-featured Instagram post from user @joshsnowhorn, the McLaren Senna in question appears to have hopped a curb and found the hard side of a wall in a sleepy little residential zone. The airbags were deployed, which means this insanely expensive machine hit with enough force to qualify for more than a mere fender bender.

Our guess is the owner wanted to see what would happen after planting their right foot to the floor, at which time the tail broke free, hooking the car into the wall.

To add insult to injury, the crash occurred just hours after the customer took delivery, as reported by GT Spirit. Apparently, the crash occurred this past Saturday in the suburb of Grünwald in Munich, with a 43-year-old businessman taking responsibility for the screw-up.

With production limited to just 500 examples, each of which goes for more than a $1 million a pop, you can bet the repair bill will be mighty steep.

Keep it on the track, folks. That way, when you run out of talent, there’s at least some runoff to save your hide. And the car.
