High horsepower Porsches are coming back into style.Last summer the German tuning firm, 9ff, released a ridiculously powerful version of Porsche’s current performance figurehead, the GT2. What set the 9ff GT2 apart from the standard vehicle was a tuning kit that could make 670 HP, up from the factory 520 HP, and go 220 MPH.

Not to be outdone by the American tuners, Switzer Performance, and their stock looking 800 HP GT2. 9ff has shot back with a complete reworking of their previous package, complete with a hearty diet of carbon fiber and a paintjob that should be worth a few seconds around a track. Most of the body panels have been replaced with the lightweight black stuff and under normal circumstances it would be a crime to cover it up, but the classic Gulf paint scheme from Le Mans cars like the Ford GT40, Porsche 917 and now Aston Martin’s LMP1 entry make this GT2 look at home on a racetrack.

The flat six in the 9ff BT2, makes 850 HP and motivates the uber911 to go from 0 to 60 MPH in just 3.0 seconds, hit 120 MPH in 8.7 seconds and the all important 300 km/h mark in 18.5 seconds. That is 180 MPH in less time than it takes an average car to complete the quarter mile. Because the 9ff BT2, is an upgrade over their old GT2, the vehicle’s top speed has been raised to 240 MPH, but 9ff will custom tune customers gearboxes with either shorter gearing for enhanced acceleration, or long cogs for even more top end. All this can be yours for only €285,000 ($398,000).

actually ive never tried the launch control feature but on my brothers BMW to activate it u have to hold the gas and brake pedals while you turn the wheel max to the right and then back to the centre then you let go off the brake and it goes i dont really think you have to turn it off as it is only used during starting. My id ea is that is it possible to use a similar to feature on the exits of corners thats what i thought the GTR had but im sure its not called launch control its like VDC I think there was an article here on topspeed about it voiding your warranty

see the problem with this arctical is that bmw is power and luxury, nissan is power and tech and porshe is power and bugatti is speed . comparing the 4 is like comparing a toad to a frog

Yeah, you can use launch control like that but you will need to change the settings which will be hard to do while driving around a track. Besides I don’t think the gearbox would allow that. You can test that in your GT-R though. It should be noted that running starts are taken around a track to get the best lap possible. That means you would approaching at a high speed at the starting line, so again lauch control would be uneccessary.

57K is the price of a base M3. An optioned M3 would gain GT-R price.

Price according to MSN Autos

BMW M6 $102,100
Nissan GTR $76,840
Porsche 911 Turbo $140,000
BMW M3 $57,850

still if it competes with the porsche Turbo it should compete with the M6 and I couldnt find the GT2
I feel mistakened right now did it compete with the porsche turbo or the regular 911

anyways here is the price of the 911 $76,000

BMWM6  (488) posted on 06.11.2009

also they still compare the GTR with the porsche turbo and sometimes the GT2 those are more expensive then the M6 and are you sure I thought the price of the GTR is very close to the M6

BMWM6  (488) posted on 06.11.2009

thankyou ak47 and cant you use launch control to start at the track like at the starting line

BMWM6, the reason a BMW M3 is compared to a GT-R is because they have similiar price tags. When the GT-R first came out their prices were almost the same. An M5 or M6 would make more sense but they also cost a minimum of 90k and the M6 even more. Also, the M3 was regarded as the everyday supercar, so its only natural to put it against the budget supercar.

And BMW aren’t rubbish although they are hardly stellar from a reliability point. I have mentioned this before, the BMW sourced Mclaren F1 still has the record of the worlds fastest naturally aspirated car so they have a fair bit of knowledge tecnology wise. The F1 is also faster around the Nurburgring than the Bugatti Veyron. It has near GT-R lap record times.

It must be said however that the Veyron is not really a track car, its all about top speed. In that aspect, the 7.40 lap time is actually quite impressive for a two ton, 1001hp car. I believe its faster than the lightweight ZO6 on the Nurburgring.

And one more thing, launch control is for straight lines only, you can’t use it on a track.

I also have a question and I wish AK47 could answer it anyone else is welcome

How come in man comparisons the Nissan GTR is put against the BMW M3 souldnt it be put against the BMW M6 and same with the porsches the M3 is always used not the M6

The M6 has 500 hp which is close to the 480 hp of the GTR ut the M3 has 414 hp which is way bellow the GTR

First of all Bmw isn’t rubbish its cars are great and quite advanced. research more on that. second the bmw cars have outstanding performance, but your comparing it to a million dollar super car, have you seen the video I think it was here on topspeed somewhere the bugatti veyron vs. the m3 in a drag race well of course the veyron won because its got 1000 hp and cost a million. so comparing a veyron and lets say the top performer in the bmw line is probably the m6. the M6 still has no chance because at most the M6 is going to cost 120 k and has 500 hp so unreasonable comparison. Probably comparing the veyron to any car is unreasonable unless that car is of same class which is hard to find, That’s why they don’t compare a Porsche boxster with a Gallardo there of different class. And could you please explain to me the last sentence I didnt get it. I might sound biased here but BMW might be able to beat a Veyron if they tried because they were responsible for producing the engine in the Mclaren F1 so they should be able to do it but since the M1 they haven’t made a true Supercar I wish I they make it in my life time.

Know I am not trying to make the Veyron sound bad but around unbarring it clocked 7:40 while a regular 911 GT2 gets 7:34 and a Nissan GT-R gets 7:26 but some criticize that recording because they say that it uses launch control and other features that will void your warranty if you use them but nonetheless it got 7:26. A BMW M3 gets 7:50 but I am not going to bother explaining because I will be bothered and called a fan boy if I say it could have went faster, “It can go faster” there I said it.

We know that Porsche cars are beautiful and strong but in my opinion no car maker can beat Bugatti Veyron 16.4 at all even BMW couldn’t beat it.BMW rubbish cars builder beside Bugatti Veyron and Bugatti Veyron still The Fastest Roadster On Earth.
