What would you do with a million dollars? If you answered, "Destroy a car", then you would have something in common with the driver of this Porsche. The Porsche 9ff GT9-R is, without question, one of the fastest cars on Earth as shown by a top speed of 257 mph with a 1120 cp and a peak torque of 1000 NM. Unfortunately, the 9ff GT9-R’s staggering numbers can also make it a death-ride on four wheels.

Case in point: a 9ff GT9-R was recently taken to the UK to perform a test drive on the Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground race track. At 217 mph, the pilot hit the brakes hard, lost control, and crashed. Fortunately, the driver is ok, but the car is a total loss!

This was unit number 0/20, so we imagine it will take some time until we see a new unit built.

I know that it was one of the fastest car, but It should not be overdriven. I guess the driver of this car took the chance to test the speed of GT9-R and went crazy on the road so that the engine will totally blew up until it wrecked. Poor car, it should be taken care of. Looks like the owner of this car spent the rest of his life in confusion.

It doesn’t look like a total wreck to me. Well, sometimes I really wonder as I see a lot of supercars crashing while on test drives. Are the drivers for the test run responsible for the damages of the car or are they covered? As test drivers are also taking a risk to see the best and worst of the car.
