The Ram 1500 TRX is primarily an off-road performance truck, but with specs like a supercharged V-8, 700+ horses, 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds, etc. there’s no reason why it shouldn’t hit the drag strip. So, Brooks from ‘DragTimes’ decided to have it go up against a Lamborghini Huracan EVO RWD for a series of drag races. The EVO is obviously a lot more agile and suited to the track, but there’s a catch – the TRX isn’t stock. It puts out 1,000 horses; almost 30-percent more than its stock output! Which car do you have your money on?

A 7,000-Pound Beast Takes On The Agile Italian

The production-spec Ram 1500 TRX was launched in 2020 and it came with specs like a 6.2-liter, supercharged V-8 engine, 702 horses and 650 pound-feet of twist, 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds, and a ton of off-road equipment. And, all this without compromising on its capabilities as a pickup truck.

Power is routed to all four 35-inch tires via an eight-speed automatic gearbox. It comes with a whole lot of other upgrades under the skin, too. The owner of the truck noted that it has completed the quarter-mile run in 10.9 seconds at 130 mph.

Power is routed to the rear wheels here via a seven-speed automatic gearbox. The host noted that this EVO RWD completed the quarter-mile run in 11.1 seconds at 131 mph. It looks like it will be a close race.

As expected, both the vehicles were running quite close to each other. In the first race, the Lamborghini was quicker off the line, but that was because the TRX driver’s reaction time was a little slower. The Italian also finished the race before the TRX, but the truck was quicker, if you go by the individual times. It took 11.050 seconds to complete the quarter-mile at 129.82 mph, whereas the Huracan EVO took 11.137 seconds at 128.53 mph.

The outcome of the second race was also the same, but both the car did better times. The TRX’s run was completed in 10.809 seconds at a trap speed of 130.14 mph, and the Huracan EVO took 11.046 seconds at 129.48 mph to finish the race.

The third race, however, was different. The TRX seems to have shifted early which led to it creating a lot of distance between itself and the EVO. The Lamborghini was also recorded a better time than the Ram. Here, the Italian supercar took 11.206 seconds at 128.48 mph, whereas the Ram 1500 TRX took 11.652 seconds at 108.93 mph.

For a vehicle that costs almost one-third the price of a Lamborghini Huracan RWD EVO even with a Stage 4 upgrade, the TRX did a fantastic job here. Watch the video below and share your thoughts with us in the comments section.
