This car is now the most expensive 1994 Toyota Supra A80 ever sold

A 1994 Toyota Supra has just been sold for $121,000. Yup, you read that right. This number is kind of hurting my intelligence. $121,000 for a 1994 Toyota Supra? I mean, really?

True, the model sold through Bring a Trailer listing is nearly perfect. It is red, manual, twin-turbocharged, and it covered only 7,111 miles. But, $121,000 for a 1994 Toyota? Well, with the impending debut of the all-new Toyota Supra GR A90 in a week or so, the world obviously went berserk about the best Supra that ever was. The thing is that this particular version was really well cared for. And, it is one of the top of the line models from the age when it was produced.

What Is This 1994 Toyota Supra All About?

The story about this particular Supra is as clean as an Apple store. The car is finished in Renaissance Red hue and sports an impeccable tan leather interior. You can even geek out over the original 17-inch wheels, Bridgestone Potenza tires with a 1994 date code, and a Toyota CD/cassette unit. It’s all in its original packaging which is, by itself, an incredible sight to behold. As you may know, almost every single Toyota Supra is modified in one way or another. This one isn’t, and that makes it rather curious and cool. $121,000 cool? Well, at least one buyer with that kind of money thinks it is.

And when people with money believe that a 1991 Supra is $121,000 cool, then it most certainly is.

Previously, Bring a Trailer sold a 1994 Toyota Supra for $80,500. This one is 40 grand more expensive.

Usually, unmodified Supras of this year can go for sub 50k, but they are rather rare, let me tell you that. Some modified units are a bit cheaper though. Nevertheless, this particular one really seems to be a gem.

This is what the Bring A Trailer has to say about it:

  • 1994 Toyota Supra
  • 7,111 miles on the clock
  • Powered by a turbocharged 3.0L inline-6 mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox
  • Finished in Renaissance Red over a tan leather interior,
  • the car was first leased in 1994 in Florida
  • moved to Pennsylvania in 1999

From 90k to 121k In a Short Bidding War

It took only one day of bidding for this particular 1994 Toyota Supra to jump from the listed price of $90,000 to $121,000. Now, this made this particular 1994 Toyota Supra the most expensive Supra of all time. Save for the $185,000 Fast and Furious original, mind you.

Final Thoughts

The prices of used Toyota Supras went berserk. The hype about the debut of the new one and the sheer popularity of the A80 made this one as expensive as it is. Unfortunately, I don’t see anyone driving this one. It will most likely end up in a climate controlled garage and be offered for sale in a couple of years. Or, if some Toyota dealer were to buy this one (which isn’t unheard of), it would serve as a freaking show car. I am down with that actually.
