Mercedes has unveiled the GT 43, an entry-level model that will sit below the GT 53, GT 63, and GT 63 S that were unveiled earlier this year. The GT 43 has the same engine as the GT 53, albeit with lower power. How much lower, you ask? Well, it's still good enough to sweep you off of your feet.

Under The Hood
The GT 43 is offered with the same 3.0-liter, turbocharged, inline-six that is found under the hood of the GT 53. Power is sent to all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission.

The GT 43 will eat into the GT 53’s Sales
The car tops out at 168 mph; 10 mph less than the GT 53. The reason for this ‘minute’ (pun intended) timing difference is because the GT 43 unleashes all its horses at 5500 rpm, compared to the GT 53’s 6100 rpm. Fancy, right?
How Much Does It Cost?
This is significantly less than the GT 53 which costs €109,000. For a car that is similar in every aspect to the GT 53. Mercedes is advertising the same equipment list for both cars, so the GT 43 is nothing short of a bargain unless those 68 ponies and 15 pound-feet are all that important to you.
Neither has been announced for the U.S. market, but the GT 63 and GT 63 S will arrive in the first quarter of 2019, while the GT 53 is due in mid-2019. Like it? Hate it? Let us know in the comments section below.
