The fellows from GT Spirit recently traveled to Germany and while on their visit to the high end Porsche tuner TechArt’s facility in Leonberg, they ran into to aftermarket manufacture’s CEO Thomas Behringer. He founded the company back in 1987 with the “philosophy of creating cars which blend artistic perfection with technologically advanced features,” and when asked about why he chose this particular maker Behringer replied: “I really want to stay close to the Porsche heritage, because of its unique character.”

A tuner of this stature and experience has truly seen it all, when asked Berhinger replied: “The craziest request we ever got was a Porsche GT3 we fitted with a Louis Vuitton interior. The main problem was getting the interior fabrics from LV. It became an impossible task. We told the customer and together we came up with a plan. The owner of the car went to a Louis Vutton shop, bought every bag inside the shop and shipped these to us. Each bag was cut apart and the fabrics where used inside the car for head lining, doors, steering wheel, dashboard, seats and center console.”

Now TechArt isn’t a company who made a name for themselves on flashy body kits and Altezza style taillights, the CEO insists that they “do everything ourselves and think that individuality is key in the way you develop, produce and sell products. We only develop items that are of any use within the car’s setup. It should always be functional, a reason why Berhinger’s ride of choice is the TechArt GTstreet R Cabriolet. “It is the best example of our lifestyle creating cars positioned above a standard Porsche mixed with TechArt individuality.”

I’m really a big fan of the Porsche Cayenne that TechArt modified last year. And we ASK for MORE.

You’re right there Mike100. The good thing about these tuners is the fact that they make great cars into extraordinary great cars. TechArt is known for their really nice rendition of Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet.

Even before buying cars, the best thing to consider is how the beauty would fit your lifestyle. And good thing that there arecars for every lifestyle and all of them comes in a great package. From SUVs to sedan to coupes. So the best thing about these tuners, like TechArts, they have found a niche in personalizing a car that is already something "personal" in nature. No wonder they have crazy customers. I’d like to consider myself as one if I get the chance to hire them for their services.

To the craziest customer that TechArts ever had, congratulations. Well, to cover your car with LV cloth could be a bit pricey but I say it’s all worth it. Or at least it’s still better than having your car plated with gold and have it stolen.
