Announcing its appearance from 2005, at Frankfurt Motor Show, the new Audi Q7's features includes: seating for seven occupants, a powerful range of engines and a host of advanced driving aids that promise to make the beaten track feel far more civilised.

The new 6-cylinder engine will have 280 bhp and 360 Nm torque. It will also come with a 6 gear tiptronic and of course quattro, accelerating the Audi Q7 from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds with a top speed of 220 km/h. The Q7 also includes an ESP, or electronic stability programme, that includes numerous new functions such as hill descent assist.

Audi's German siblings Porsche and VW each have their own top-of-the-range super-utes with the Cayenne Turbo and Touareg W12 Sport. All three models share the same basic platform however the Q7 gets special treatment by receiving a segment busting top dog engine which will be no less than a 5.5L FSI V10 producing 550 hp and 413 lbs/ft of torque. Porsche's Cayenne Turbo with the Tequipment program engine upgrade "only" gives 500hp.

The Q7 will make its market debut at the start of 2006. The production version will be based on the Pikes Peak quattro concept study unveiled at the 2003 Detroit Motor Show. In common with the study, the five-door, seven-seater Q7 will combine the qualities of a fully-fledged off-road vehicle with the typical dynamism of an Audi high-performance sports saloon. The Audi SUV will moreover offer cabin space that sets new standards in its class.

Even if we don't know yet the price we should expect at something like 50000 euro or more.
