The Subaru BRZ has that sweet cult car status because of the general aura surrounding the Subaru as a car brand. Such popularity is similar to the love other Japanese brands get from the U.S. car-aficionado public - think Toyota or Honda - and whenever these makers drop a new model, the rip curls reaches every corner of the car world and other related areas.
X-Tomi Design’s take on a would-be Subaru BRZ STI hasn’t gone unnoticed so following the same thematic, it’s time to bring a marvellous set of renders to your attention, this time signed by Khyzyl Saleem.
What do we think of the new 2022 Subaru BRZ?! 🤔 It may not be equipped with a Turbocharger but it sure has potential!...

The 2022 Subaru BRZ brought big news for the brand’s following. For starters, it doesn’t get a turbocharger - a decision that might get its fair share of boos and jeers - yet it’s more powerful than the model it replaces courtesy of a naturally-aspirated 2.4-liter boxer mill with 228 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque on tap.
Engine | 2.0-liter flat-four |
---|---|
Horsepower | 228 HP |
Torque | 184 LB-FT |
Transmission | six-speed manual/six-speed automatic |
Weight | 2,815 pounds (manual)/2,881 pounds (automatic) |
Hiding the engine is a new body kit, too, one that builds on the previous BRZ but keeps in line with the sports car’s handling and ride abilities. It looks mean and clean at the same time, with a low and wide front end and muscular rear hips.
It’s on these proportions, shapes, and lines that The Kyza penned down his take on a potential Subaru BRZ STI.
However, he went one step further than his peers and created a whole new JDM-style widebody kit for the BRZ and as a bonus, added a couple of influences from the legendary Impreza 22B STI - we are pretty sure you already noticed the blue paint and the gold yellow rims. What Kyza is telling us, really, is that the BRZ has a lot of aftermarket potential as far as both its looks and powertrain go.
I mean, looking at the pictures, I can’t help but wonder how much time will pass before a tuner actually decides to partner up with Khyzyl Saleem on a dedicated 2022 Subaru BRZ body kit. Heck, it might even look exactly like this one here, because to us, it’s perfectly flawless.
