The Porsche Ice Force Pro Experience is more than proving grounds for would-be Porsche drivers. Unlike most “Experiences” that Porsche offers all over the world, Ice Force Pro is different, in part because it’s located 110 miles north of the Arctic Circle in a place called Levi, Finland. The 76-acre plot of frozen awesomeness lets you test your driving and drifting skills in the snow.

Even better, it lets you do it in a range of Porsche models, ranging from the 911 Carrera 4S, 911 GT3, and yes, the all-electric Taycan. Carfection recently took a trip to Ice Force Pro — just before the global quarantine shut almost everything down — to see what it’s like to drive and drift these Porsche models — specifically the Taycan — with studded tires, in an environment that’s as white as cotton.

What’s so great about Porsche’s Ice Force Pro?

First, consider the location. When it comes to breathtaking locations for testing programs, this one sits on top of that list. Then there are the cars. You’re not just driving Hondas and Toyotas here. You’re driving Porsches, and there are so many of them to choose from.

Carfection found that out first-hand when they took a trip to the northernmost part of the world to partake in some driving shenanigans in the snow. Carfection}

The experience of driving all three Porsche models wasn’t lost on the presenter. He particularly loved taking the all-electric Taycan for a spin, in part to learn if it could handle itself on the track as well as its gas-powered counterparts.

It’s one to thing to drive and drift 911 Carrera 4S and the 911 GT3 in the ice; it’s another experience entirely to drive - and drift — a Taycan under the same conditions. Either way, the fun factor was dialled up to overdrive.

Getting the chance to play around with these Porsches in a location as breathtaking as the Arctic Circle is what dreams are made of. For most of us, anyway.
