A Quick Look At The 2016 Ford Focus RS’s "Drift Mode" Feature: Video
Smoke those wheels and perform power slides like a pro!by Kirby Garlitos, on
The 2016 Ford Focus RS is one of my favorite cars today. I even nominated it as one of my performance cars of the year for 2015. That’s how much I love the new Focus RS. I’ll admit that I have yet to get inside of one, but I’ve heard so many awesome things about it, not the least of which is a new feature in the car called “drift-mode”.
What the mode does is pretty self-explanatory, but the gist of it is that, in theory, drift mode allows even the most mild-mannered of drivers to perform smoking burnouts like they’re Ken Block. Pretty exciting, right? In this video, Autocar’s deputy reviews editor Vicky Parrott sat behind the wheel of the new Focus RS to test out the hot hatch’s new drift mode. Judging from the short clip that we can see, Parrott looked like an absolute pro performing those smoky power slides. Granted, Parrott knows her way in a car, but watching her leave those tire marks on the ground like a certified pro is making me that much more excited to get behind the wheel the of the new Focus RS and try its drift mode myself.
I don’t know how that’s going to turn out, but the thought of it is already getting me excited. Check out the video and see it for yourself. There’s a good chance that you’re going to feel the same way that I do.
