It's not often that you see your typical school-run SUV taking on a V-10 Lambo, do you? But here we are
Okay, this is no ordinary SUV. It is the new Model X, that's been given the full Plaid treatment. WIth its tri-motor AWD setup, the 5741 lbs Plaid puts out 1020 hp and 1050 lb-ft of torque
The other contender for today is a Lamborghini Huracan. The V-10 baby Lambo is a legend in its own right. Under the hood is a 5.2-L mill that churns out 631 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque
Off the bat, the Lambo clearly had the edge, but the Tesla wasn't too far behind
It was in the lead by the 60 footer and that gap just got bigger as the two cars hurtled towards the finished line
The Plaid beat the Lambo with a 1/4 mile time of 9.90s @144.84 mph against the Huracans 10.96s @ 129.55 mph
If that wasn't convincing enough, the two cars had another go, with similar results
The Model X once again took the 1/4 mile with an even faster time of 9.83s @ 144.44 mph
So if it's outright speed that you're after and you need the extra space, the Tesla Model X Plaid makes a nice case for itself, but in the twisties, the Lambo is still king. Swipe up to read more.
