While the whole world is suffering from the effects of the economic crisis, the Middle East either is immune to it, or just doesn’t care. We’ve all seen how Dubai is slowly transforming the art of spending and it seems that its neighbors are bent on not being left behind.

Abu Dhabi, for instance, is also hard at work in transforming its country into a prime tourist destination. Its next mega project, which will open in 2010, is the Ferrari World Theme Park. Expected to be the world’s largest indoor theme park, Ferrari World is shaping up to be one of the world’s most ultimate attractions. It’s going to house a number of Ferrari models dating back from the company’s origins. In addition to that, the theme park is expected to carry at least 20 different rides and attractions, including the world’s fastest roller coaster – which we won’t be surprised if it is powered by Ferrari themselves.

Continued after the jump.

Located on at Yas Island, a 2,500-hectare land that was specifically reserved to become one of Abu Dhabi’s key leisure, entertainment, and lifestyle sectors, Ferrari World is, without question, a technological marvel, built to resemble a gigantic double-curve body shell of a Ferrari that will end up becoming a virtual masterpiece, and a sight to behold from up in the sky.

The countdown is on towards the opening of Ferrari World and it’s looking more and more like the place every Ferrari fan – regardless of age – would want to put as their next destination-of-choice.
