Adam Carolla->ke3905 has never been one to speak with a filter on his mouth and in the past few years, he's gotten in a lot of trouble for his choice of words. You'd think that by now, he would have learned his lesson and not continue to hide under his old and used up defense of being a 'comedian'. But apparently, the man just can't keep his lid shut and his latest tirade against homosexuals has cast a new light on the man's crassness and overall stupidity.

The whole thing happened during one of his recent podcasts on the Adam Carolla Show where he took some shots towards an Internet campaign that was pushing for Sesame Street characters Bert and Ernie to get married. Clearly offended by the insinuation, Carolla lashed out, asking: "When did everybody get f-----g lumped in with the gays? Really? What percentage is transgendered?"

Clearly not satisfied, Carolla then went ahead and attacked the LGBT community, telling them in no uncertain terms to "shut up" about getting equal rights because, in his own words, "you're ruining my life."

After his comments stirred the pot, Carolla came out and released a statement in his Twitter account, saying: "I'm sorry my comments were hurtful. That being said, I'm a comedian, not a politician." Okay, that makes it better. He's apologizing that his comments were hurtful. but he's justifying himself because he's a comedian and not a politician?

Full story after the jump.

Understandably, his comments just might get him in trouble with his latest gig on SPEED, "The Car Show". The latest we heard was that his scheduled podcast with various media folks regarding The Car Show->ke3905 has been postponed towards the end of the month. We don't know the reasoning behind it, but it certainly looks like SPEED didn't find his demeaning comments on the LBGT community all that funny. Or maybe they are just giving it some time for the heat surrounding Carolla to die down.

For a man who prides himself on having some cojones, he certainly does a good job defending his actions by saying "he's a comedian, not a politician."
